Sydney VS Melbourne

August 18th 2007 01:53
Sydney Vs Melbourne - the battle of these two cities has been raging for many years.
Both states claim to hold the crown but what is it that makes each of these two cities unique in their own rights.

Let me break it down starting with Sydney.....
-Sydney is home to the most famous coat hanger and house in the world
-Sydney is the biggest city population wise in Australia
-Ask tourist to name a city in Australia and guaranteed Sydney is more likely to be the answer than Melbourne - Bondi Beach might play a large part of that but then again the beaches in Sydney deserve their own mention

- Sydney's weather is not as unpredictable as Melbournes
- Then there were the Sydney Olympic Games "the best games ever"
-Sydney has The Rocks - history brings the first settlers and convicts here
-Off course Sydney also hosts the best fire works in the world come New Years Eve

In comparison, lets look at Melbourne.
- Melbourne well known for it's nightlife and diverse culture
- Melbourne brought us AFL and men in little tight shorts
-Melbourne is named after the queens first Prime Minister Lord Melbourne - hence has royal connections (do we really care? Do Melbournites even know this?)
-Melbourne hosts the Melbourne Cup
- Melbourne is cheaper to live in than Sydney

There are many points that i have not mentioned here and sure there were many more i did not know until i did some research. Most net sites including Wikepedia rate Melbourne as having the upper hand but think about it realistic and exclude landmark features and restaurants, if everyone can truly afford it wouldn't Sydney be the number 1 choice?

Feel free to agree or disgree with me.....

What do you do on Fridays nights?

August 17th 2007 09:19
It's Friday night and i am sitting here bored out of my brains......

Once upon a time i craved to be in this exact position where i could sit and do nothing, not worry about social gatherings, hanging out with friends, cooking for people, spending time with family....now i am here i am not so sure.

Do i call my friends and see what they are doing or is that using them?
Should i hang out with my family or is that too desperate?
Do i just watch movies and pass the time away until i am ready to hit the sack?

I don't thinking sitting here on the computer all night will be make feel any better so i'll put it out there to all you bloggers - what do you do on Friday nights??????

Are you a cheat?

August 17th 2007 05:30
Calling all cheaters!

Let me start by asking the big WHY??????? Why do people cheat? Be it male or female.
I am the victim of a serial cheater and i say enough is enough.
I know the saying goes there are 5 women to every man but that does not mean that a guy needs to act on it! Girls are guilty of this too, not that i have ever cheated or would want to.
These days there are so many options and i guess that is why relationships are no longer what they use to be.
There are people who i believed were so tight knit in their marriages/relationships only to find out that they are no longer together.
So let me open up the topic, please people tell me your views, especially all of you out there who are guilty this - 'Because i can' is not an acceptable answer!

August 17th 2007 03:38
Let me start by apologising to all you people out there who are mistaking the title to be anything related to cricket - it's not.
