RJHH second season

October 5th 2006 12:49
The next installment of RJHH was just aired on channel 10.

The usually quality of sketches were aired along with a few new ideas, which were defiantly worth a laugh. They also bought back some old classic sketches from last season, which topped off tonight's episode.

One of the best skits that were played tonight was a new sketch to season 2. The actors played roman sport commentators who followed the 'Christan's vs lions' sporting event. The sketch also included a spin off of their 'Jesus' character who was been in several different sketches.

The chopper skit was one of the better this season, it follows chopper around the city pretty much telling people to "Harden the f#$k up". Although it was fairly brief, it was hilarious, "Heath" the actor who plays chopper did a brilliant job as usual. You should be able to catch the skit on YouTube.

Some of the content in tonights show will be up for download on the official RJHH website, if you missed tonight's show or want to see some of the show again. Keep watching, it only gets better.

The humor is still there.

September 21st 2006 13:47
After just watching tonight's episode of RJHH, I am relived to know that the show still hasn't lost its touch.

The timeslot doesn't seem to affect the quality of the humour in the show. The scenarios where hilarious, for anyone that missed it you can log onto the official website and catch some of the better clips from tonight's (and previous) show. It's good to see the fresh material has taken such a original place on channel 10.

Even though the chopper skit was a little dull, it still managed to make laugh. Heath (writer/actor/chopper impersonator) still has it, and brings the character to life with his sarcastic views on everyday life. I am positive the chopper skits are only going to get better.

The 'naughty lesbian' skit on tonight's show was hilarious, and the follow up skit which had heath explaining that lesbian jokes weren't funny, along side a sign that said something like "actually their hilarious" was topped off when he came out with "Oh?! lesbians can see?!" ... Yes, it's funnier to watch it rather than read it, but either way, the show is still alive and kicking.

Great show, DO NOT miss it next week!

(If you happen to be in a country that doesn't get the show on air - you can catch some of the clips on the official homepage.)

RJHR

September 20th 2006 13:38
The Ronnie Johns Half Hour is now reaching their second season. With
a brilliant first season behind them, much is expected from their new
material which is to be seen Thursday nights. However, they have a new
time slot (9:00pm) which brings certain factors into play. Most of
their skits are full of language which is deemed inapporite for
younger viewers, this means that their new time slot will restrict the
amount of 'swearing' and 'foul language' that is allowed to be shown.
Does this effect the quality of humor in their skits ?
The Ronnie Johns Half Hours is most famous for their 'Chopper' acts,
which are indeed hilarious but due to the new time slot, have to be
edited for legal reasons. Following the regulations that the 9pm time
slot bring, they may only use the "F-word" 15 times during the length
of the show. Any Ronnie Johns fan knows that every "F-word" chopper
blurts out, is another reason to burst out with laughter. Will the
restriction on the language shown in the new chopper skits be as good
as the previous series ?
The first series had a 10:30 pm time slot which allowed the skits to
have virtually no limits. For obvious reasons, the new time slot will
attract more viewers to the show. Ronnie Johns is one of the funniest,
if not the funniest Australian comedy shows to hit air, and it would
sad to see the humor in their skits lessen due to a restriction on the
content of their material. I honestly think the new time slot will
deeply effect the humor in the chopper skits, but since seeing the
latest Ronnie Johns episodes the other skits are getting better. Lead
writer 'Heath' from the Ronnie Johns cast posts on the official Ronnie
Johns forums that he thinks the writing in series two is a lot better
then the first series. Many of the fans that also post on the official
forums agree that the new series is better than the last, but are
finding the new chopper skits to be dull.
