Australian Poetry Slam 2010
October 15th 2010 21:11
The Slam is on, only three heats to go until the State Final
Come along and support the best in the state as they battle over the spoken word If you want to get some poetry, now's the time to get it good, fast and hard.
Head along to the heats to read or simply be enraptured by other's words.
But whatever you do, don't miss the state final at Higher Ground,
Australian Poetry Slam 2010
Writers are invited to speak, scream, howl, whisper even sing their original poems, Stories, Lyrics and Monologues in the Australian Poetry SLAM 2010.
This ain't no straight poetry reading. The SLAM is more like a literary campfire gathering where writers share with verbal voodoo, breathless rhythms and sweat-breaking nerves.
SLAM heats are running in city and regional venues across Australia until mid-November 2010.
Two winners from every state final will then take on the mightiest, tightest spoken-word artists from every corner of Australia in the National SLAM Final on the Main Stage of the Sydney Theatre Company on Sunday December 5 th 2010.
The Australian Poetry SLAM Champion tours to the Ubud Writer and Readers Festival in Bali and tours around China with the Beijing Bookworm International Literary Festival
