Aussie News - December 2006

Growers from neither country are happy with the situation. New Zealand growers claim the restrictions are excessive while Aussie growers say they don't do enough to protect Australian fruit.

Whatever happens New Zealand growers will continue the fight to export their apples to Australia, should or will it ever occur?

Kim Beazley
The West Australian reports that Kevin Rudd and Julia Gillard are currently announcing in parliament house that they will challenge Kim Beazley and his deputy Jenny Macklin for the federal Labor leadership next week.

It looks like it will be a close call with about even support from within Labor ranks for both Beazley and Rudd. Who will win?
