Attention Orblers: will the Flame Warriors report to my office, please?

Thanks for coming, all. I've requested your presence here today because I've noticed valuable leadership tendencies in all of you, as well as honest outrage over injustice in the world.
I've also noticed in all of you a certain passion and empathy when you post about injustice.
Now, I have a proposal for the lot of you:
How about you use your very powerful personalities to raise awareness about the crisis in Darfur? Or the looming prospect of Oz being absorbed into the EU? Just check the news links--there is plenty of stuff that needs to be brought to the public's attention.
Your combined experience, writing skills, attention to detail and persistence, passion, Uni experience and eloquent style..this is a powerhouse blogging combination that is being utterly wasted.
I'm asking you all to choose battles you can win.
While you may disagree on certain subjects (that go WAY too deep into a person's background to change, esPECially by trading insults) I see in all of you the same sense of wanting to change things for the better.
So how about you alpha dogs joining forces to write about things that can be changed?
In these troubled times, we need to drop our personal differences and work together on the bigger issues that concern all of us--in Australia or around the world.

After Congress passed the ignominious "Bailout Bill" screwing all American taxpayers, we both knew we had a much bigger problem than our differing opinions about abortion or women's rights:
ME: "S.L., I am in total agreement with you about this travesty.
Now is the time for all taxpayers, regardless of affiliation, to email or call Congress and Reps and let them know that this will not fly."
S.L. Bradish: "Consider me onboard, D. Any representative or Senator from my state who went along with this needs to be fired immediately (or on Nov. 4th.) That means I can tell Harry Reid (again) what I think of him!
If we as Americans don't stand up against this, we can get the full view from beneath the communist steam roller they're aiming at us! "

I won't be having anything to do with this because my name wasn't mentioned.
Which is probably a good thing, because I don't know what Darfur is.
And besides, I'm too busy writing Alaskan culinary posts about the US elections. And wondering if moose tastes anything like platypus or wombat.
