The unripe atis fruit and the finely powdered seeds are used to expel intestinal worms. The unripe fruitis eaten while the powdered seeds mixed with water is taken internally.
The roots of atis are placed in a pot with water and then boiled. The resulting solution is strained and cooled before using as a purgative.
