The Sydney Underground Film Festival
September 11th 2008 11:26
Ever wondered what it is like to experience smell-o-vision? Stop wondering and pop over to the factory in Enmore, Sydney.
It's back again, The Sydney Underground Film Festival (SUFF), and it's bound to be entertaining.
Opening night dive into the mountain caves where Bin Laden is reportedly hiding with The Miscreants. Think it's pretty risky exploring that sort of area? Try doing it with a film crew.
There's a film titled Sex Gallery and Recycled Shorts.. the title alone is reason to see this 'green' flick.
And don't think I've forgotten about the promises smell-o-vision.
John Waters twisted humour hits the screens once more with his 1980s feature Polyester.
Every person who views Polyester will be issued with an 'Odorama Card' with built in 1980s scratch and sniff technology. Ever remember those scratch and sniff stickers your teacher used to give you in primary school? I sure do. Teacher used to stick one of a gorilla holding a banana onto my colour and I scratched and sniffed artificial banana goodness all day.
During the film you will be instructed to scratch and voila you will be able to effectively smell the film. Pretty special hey?
The film sounds pretty interesting too. It follows a family with the following characters:
- a messed up housewife
- cheating pornographer
- a pregnant teenager
- and a foot fetishist
The festival started today so grab your pennies, get down to enmore and buy yourself a large bucket of pop corn extra butter and enjoy.
Price - $25 - $70 (festival pass) from HERE
Sept 11 - Sept 14
The Factory, 105 Victoria Rd, Enmore
