Flashes of memories - MUGABE MUST GO!!! ZIMBABWEANS NEED THEIR HOME BACK

There are as many nights as days, and the one is just as long as the other in the year's course. Even a happy life cannot be without a measure of darkness, and the word 'happy' would lose its meaning if it were not balanced by sadness - Carl Jung To be at one with God is to be at peace ... peace is to be found only within, and unless one finds it there he will never find it at all. Peace lies not in the external world. It lies within one's own soul. - Ralph Waldo Trine

As I lay...

As I lay and watched the flowers bow
Gently in the breeze that wandered off
the water
I stared as two butterflies flittered
From each coloured patch of the garden
And I wondered
If they would prefer to have been
Born an ant, released of the heavy burden
Of wings.
I watched as the ants crawled
Through the dirt with their heavy load
And I wondered
If they would prefer to have been
Born a grain of sand with
No feelings.

As I lay a lonely cloud floated
Amongst the beauty of an empty azure sky

And I wondered
If it felt lonely, lost in all that space
Looking down to the chaos of an ugly world
And I wondered
Perhaps the cloud would like to
Have been born the wind which was
Truly free.
My eye was caught by a blade of grass
That stood small and weak and broken
And I wondered
If it would rather have been born a tree
Strong and majestic and protective
Over all.

As I lay I looked at my hand
That had written so many words of joy
And pain.
I imagined eyes that met my gaze
Each morning in a cold and shallow
Mirrored reflection.
I thought of my mouth that had screamed
Many silent and liquid words into
The dark.
I felt my ears that had caught
Sounds so beautiful and some I cared never to
Hear again.
I stared at my feet and wished
They would carry me off to be a
grain of sand.

It will pass Ash and then once more you'll be glad you are a human being.

I love being one.

Ah yes at this point in time I wish I was a cloud...or an ant...or a grain of sand! Questioning some of my judgements that I have recently made is making me a little insane at the moment, however they are made so I must stick with them.
I have to go to the Gold Coast this weekend for a birthday which will be full of couples too so I`m not looking foward to that ... I am hoping a friend will be able to meet up for a girls night out which will be much more fun I feel some table dancing and Pina Colada`s is just what the doctor ordered.
Look forward to seeing some of your art when I return..
have a good weekend

We all make bad choices, wrong decisions, or mis-step on our journeys. Everyone has something they regret or that they wish they'd done differently. But the joy of being human is that we have the opportunity to learn from our actions and hopefully avoid repeating them in the future. The best way to learn is through experience.

Beautifully expressed sentiments, Ash. There are advantages and disadvantages to any life condition.

Very true, Wendi.

Your words are beautiful, Ash but I sensed your sadness. These lines particularly resonated for me:

I thought of my mouth that had screamed
Many silent and liquid words into
The dark.
I felt my ears that had caught
Sounds so beautiful and some I cared never to
Hear again.

We're human....

Hi Wendi
Learning from our mistakes is of utmost importance isn`t it? As well as learning from those made by others. Life is definitely a sometimes bumpy journey and as you say:

There are advantages and disadvantages to any life condition.

Thank you for your wise words

Hi again Tracy,
I am glad you found the pain as well as the beauty - that is life isn`t it? The two walk hand in hand, it is just finding the balance that is the trick - or perhaps they will always be in constant battle with one another.....
thanks for the revisit, lovely to have you over again

Thanks, Ash. I didn't have enough time to explain my first comment so I thought I would pop back. I saw the beauty in being human, feeling pain and sadness, having those difficult days and looking at nature. Like you said, the trick is finding that balance...I'm definitely trying...some days it feels as though I'm closer and then others there's a massive chasm in-between me and it!!

Your comments are perfect Tracy - that is what it is - beauty in all forms, this life of ours. I hope you find a bridge that will make that chasm a little easier to cross sometimes...and the strength to make the journey across it too

Thanks, Ash. I think I have a few bridge options, some are linear, some are ricketty, some are weavy and some are definitely unsafe.....

Best wishes to you on this rainy Monday, is it raining there too?

Yeah, flying is a great idea!!

That's a pity it's not raining there, it was torrential earlier but now it's stopped and is a bit muggy again...
