Arsenal 7-1 Blackburn - You read that correctly, it isn't a typo.

Arsenal recorded their first Premier League win of 2012 in spectacular fashion against Blackburn, on an extremely cold afternoon at the Emirates Stadium.
The cold weather wasn't a problem for Arsenal, as they took the lead just over a minute into the game thanks to a tap in by Robin Van Persie.
For a while it was same old Arsenal, they created so many chances, yet failed to take them. They were made to pay for it when Morten Gamst Pedersen levelled things up from a free-kick.
Bradley Orr signed on deadline day from QPR, made his Blackburn debut earlier than expected, after Jason Lowe had to be taken off following a late tackle by Tomas Rosicky.
It didn't take long for the Gunners to regain their lead, Theo Walcott was played in after a wonderful ball from Alex Song, he then crossed for Robin Van Persie to have his second tap in, and second goal of the day. A couple of minutes later, Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain scored his first Premier League goal for the club, and more or less put the game to bed.
If that didn't kill the game off, Gael Givet did it for Arsenal. His lunging tackle on Robin Van Persie resulted in him getting sent off, making Blackburn's task even harder.
The second half began the same way the first half ended, with Arsenal firmly in control. Mikel Arteta increased Arsenal's advantage to make it 4-1. Interestingly this is Arteta's 3rd goal against Blackburn in 3 games this season. He scored from the penalty spot for Everton just before his summer move to Arsenal, and netted his first goal for his new club at Ewood Park in September's 4-3 loss. Arteta must wish he could play Blackburn every week.
Oxlade-Chamberlain got his second, before Van Persie completed his hat-trick to make it 6-1 to Arsenal. Arsenal could have easily gotten into double figures had they not gone easy on them. For much of the second half it seemed as though Arsenal were trying to get Thierry Henry his first Premier League goal in 5 years, and if that were the case, they got their wish in stoppage time, as Henry rolled back the years and completed a rout that would have been difficult for even the unbeaten team of 2003/04 to match.
I did say when Henry came off the bench that it would have been the icing on the cake if he could come on and score. It was a perfect day for Arsenal, and boy did they need that. They have a tough run of games coming up, and if they didn't get 3 points in this one, they'd of really been struggling. We shouldn't forget that Blackburn did have both Yakubu and Christopher Samba missing, but that doesn't take away the sheer class of this Arsenal display. They came out like a team determined to prove a point, and all I can say is, point made.
