SALT AS YOU COOK

April 20th 2011 16:35
When you prepare a dish, it should be well seasoned. No one should ever pick up a salt shaker when tasting your completed entree. You should always season and salt every layer of ingredients when adding to the pot or pan. If you salt your layers, it will be well seasoned and not over salted or under salted. Please remember this tip - if someone has to add salt to their dish, they are using much more salt then when the food is prepared and cooked with the salt. Adding salt at the end does not give the palate a chance to sample the actual flavor the sample of the dish, instead person will only taste the salt.

Product Labeling

Olive Oil from Italy
It is very important to read labels today and make sure they are true to their name. It has come to my attention that Extra Virgin Olive from Italy is not from Italy alone. If you read most labels that are blended versions from other countries, included but not limited to Italy, i.e. Spain, Greece, Tsunsia etc.
When I buy olive oil I want it imported and packed in Italy. There is a difference.
Happy Label Reading to All.

Creative Cooking

Cooking is like learning how to drive - Your text goes hereyou need judgmentYour text goes here To be a good cook and creative at cooking, you must learn to eyeball your ingredients. There should never be exact measurements needed. As with driving, your internal instinct is always at play.
Cooking is like any other talent - you either have it or you don't.

Cooking Class One-on-One

Your text goes hereEating delicious, wholesome and healthy should not be a chore. But because the world has gone crazy with fast foods and packed them with all kinds of preservatives, additives and high sodium, our palates have gotten used to in plain English "junk food". My goal is to teach people have to prepare foods made with organic/natural ingredients. It is not difficult but if you are not a cook, like anything else, it takes time to cultivate your craft.

on Migraine Levels

December 2nd 2010 16:47
Hi Marge: I just saw Dr. Oz this morning and he said that if you drink "ginger tea" at the onset of a migraine, it should prevent or help it from coming on. Even better, get fresh ginger and shave it into boiling water and drink.
