News are rife in the tech world that the new iPad version would be smaller ands come with dual docking ports; mobility is the name of the game. Apple keeps advancing the functionality and versatility of iPad. Apple is working very hard on making the iPad a true laptop replacement especially with the rumored future version of iPad. Apple’s iPad rumor is circulating again across the web, the rumors focus mainly on potential features for a second generation iPad. The rumor was ignited when a tech repair company-Mission Repair- blogged an image of an iPad rear cover equipped with dual docking ports.
When the first image was posted in the web, a storm ignited, unleashing a massive firestorm of tech savvy users, by late afternoon October 7, the Mission Repair site was crippled or simply knocked off the air, the buzz for the product was so strong that users crippled the Mission Repair’s site. Whether dual docking ports will actually be present in the second generation iPad is a question to which only Apple knows the answer. The iPad was considered by most tech pundits as the most successful and popular gadget of the century. It’s has taken the tech industry by storm, disrupt the PC market and considered as a trendsetter. It has created tons of buzz in the blogosphere. Revenue for iPad was so strong; Apple has already sold more than 3 million iPad units and the demand still growing strong with no sign of slowing down. Apple’s stock rose record high, its no wone of the best performer in the stock exchange.
The new version of iPad is Apple’s answer to competition, Apple tries to make some changes and add innovations to counter the growing competition from various companies in the tech world. Apple has reportedly been readying a 7 inch iPad for launch in early 2011. The crowd would love this, I’m sure they are crazy about what’s next at Apple. Rampant speculation about the next version of iPad and next year iPad sales is the inevitable offshoot of the tablet’s popularity, the demand was so strong that its outpaced the sales of both iPhones and DVD players. And a great news it’s threaten and hurts notebook and laptop sales. The iPad’s current sales rate is already at 4.5 million units per quarter, one of the fastest in the consumer electronics industry. The tablets have fast becoming the country’s fourth largest consumer electronics category, after TVs, smartphone. Analyst have predicted that the 2011 will be the year of tablets, they have predicted that more than 45 million iPad units will be shipped by 2011 and the sales of devices will hit about $9 billion by 2011. The biggest question is whether Apple could handle the competition and maintain its dominance in tablet category. Tablet introductions from top shelf competitors like Samsung, Nokia, Dell, RIM, Cisco, HP and Motorola are making the tablet market a tough place to do business the battle for tablet supremacy continues and just morphed into much brutal fight. The only big question here is, who got the best tablet? The markets for tablet are too saturated. Rival gadget like Samsung Galaxy Tab has already scheduled to hit the market by fall of 2011. HP and RIM are working hard on tablets; even Microsoft has already announced its intention to enter the tablet market, Windows powered tablets will start entering the market by the end year holidays.
