After an injury scare yesterday afternoon, Australian halfback Jonathan Thurston has been given the green light to play in tonight’s Centenary Test against New Zealand at the SCG.

Amid fears that he would not recover in time for the game, Melbourne halfback Cooper Cronk was flown over to fill in for the injured Thurston like he did last year in Australia’s 58-0 win against the Kiwis past October.

Scott Prince chose not to comment to the media after being overlooked by selectors.

However, unlike Cronk, Prince has not partnered Bird in the halves, nor has he had the luxury of orchestrating a combination between Storm’s Billy Slater and Cameron Smith. Cronk’s style of play will be read well by his teammates Israel Folau and Greg Inglis when push comes to shove. These are all advantages for a player who has not had the opportunity to partake in a full training session with the Australian squad.

Therefore, it is no surprise that Cronk was the option selectors chose to go with had Thurston not recovered in time for tonight’s clash.

Thurston in Doubt

May 8th 2008 05:05

Melbourne Storm halfback Cooper Cronk has been called up to join the Kangaroos camp amid fears that Jonathan Thurston’s ankle injury will prevent him from playing in the Centenary Test clash.

Thurston will be undergoing scans to determine the seriousness of his injury today after he rolled his ankle in training this morning. However, insiders believe that he may still be fit to play in tomorrow nights game.

Cronk who played in last years 58-0 victory over New Zealand will fly up to Sydney ahead of Titan’s Steve Prince who has been playing brilliantly this season.

Choosing a team to support is just as important as finding the perfect shoes to go with that perfect Little Black Dress…No, The other Little Black Dress. *rolls eyes at all the clueless men near by (and StephenP)* Like seriously, who only wears one pair of shoes with all outfits? *disapprovingly eyes the pair of crocs worn by the ginger-haired man walking past*

Melbourne Storm made a dramatic comeback showing true strength and courage during Monday nights clash against the Raiders.

The depleted Raiders line missing skipper, Alan Tongue and hooker, Lincoln Withers had the reigning premiers by the collar during the first half of the game, 16-4.

Both teams have had an exhilarating presence on the field this season with only one loss a piece.

Both teams who are currently sitting comfortably on the ladder have the potential to strip that luxury way from each other, as only one team may ascend up the ranks of dominance.

The Eagles and the Eels will come face-to-face at Parramatta Stadium in what is expected to be a heated clash.

With rivalry entrenched histories, both teams will sport replicas of their original 1947 jerseys as they attempt to rectify their losing streaks in tonight’s Heritage Round.

Arghhhh I know the tragic offenders you speak of! (not personally thank god...but they do insult my vision nonetheless)

You know...maybe they were being 'cool', of course you nor I will ever understand because they are simply 'misunderstood.'

Who knows...but as long as I don't have to see them (or their shoes)...I dont care haha

I knew the Storm would win by at least 10! It's only a matter of time before I play prop for them haha

I personally think it's going to be a high scoring game with the Storm leading by at least 10!
