Lord Anthony goes Postal!

June 28th 2009 22:02
"gee i dont remember the last time someone so Catholic was so obsessed with me . . . oh hang on, yeah i do, it was this really repressed, frustrated, 50yo homeless pseudo postman who started collecting my display pics for his own personal use . . . i sure hope you never get that fixated, actually i dont really care, i find you desperate old dudes pretty amusing"--From Morgan Belle (henceforth ding-dong). This should display her point...

Here is an image to help you get the picture.

But Ding-Dong goes on...
"i bet you are feeling pretty grateful that there are people like me around who will Verify all of your raving anti-social comments, no matter how absurd they are . . . not that you had the courtesy to respond to me on my own blog when you asked me a direct question and i answered you, instead you delved straight into attack post mode . . . you sure have been a busy bee"

Here is a picture to show you how I might have looked when Ding-Dong called me anti-social and raving...

Yes Ding-Dong, whats the point of commenting on your blog, you moderate the comments. I dont, I let you post whatever rant you like on mine.

But here is the bit I love...
"Jon removes posts from the homepage that whinge about Orble (yes even thinly veined "Garble" metaphors), he also removes posts that incite or perpetuate flame wars, and posts that disparage or attack other Orble writers
if you have a complaint or suggestion post in the Writers Forum, send Jon a PM, or use the complaints email complaints@orble.com"--Ding-D ong

I see Ding-Dong, so you know this via a vulcan mind-meld with the god of garble???
Is he aware that you now have a role as his spokeman?

I dislike you, if you are interested in stopping your need for speculation, because you are an Anti-Catholic bigot who tries to bully people by telling the rest of the proletariat how close you are with the gods of Garble. If you are that close, why dont you give us a full report of the meeting today, you seem to be in possesion of a bat-phone directly to him.

Judge Judy advises Garble

June 28th 2009 01:49

A lot of censorship has been demanded by the flying monkey brigade on the basis of 'slander'. For this reason I thought it worthwhile to bring in Judge Judy to an urgent meeting on my legal position in this whole matter, and after this meeting I am now fully qualified to give my pearls of wisdom. Note well, this is a totally unqualified legal opinion without any merit whatsoever, not a moral one.

Is calling someone a flying monkey Slander/Libel?
No. For slander to be proven it is required that the reader must reasonably believe that the statement is purporting to be true. It is simply satire.

Is calling someone a 'fat, brutish, bully who works for the taliban, and couldnt research their way out of a wet paper bag, with or without that great tool wikipedia' slander/libel?
No, that is fair robust commentary expressing your opinion about a person, which albeit negative, falls clearly under the 'fair commentary' defence. Likewise, there is no specific accusation being made, but just general commentary on your opinion of the person.

Is saying someone 'on the 5th May 1990, made love to his neighbour Mrs. Smith' slander/libel?
Yes, this is a specific charge, specific event, and directly indicating the people involved for the purpose of defaming them. This would be slander.

Does using the term 'in my opinion' help?
Yes, if you are ever in doubt, throw that in. It might help, depending on the rest of the content.

Garble.com under attack

June 28th 2009 00:19
[Emerald City, the land of Oz]
Unconfirmed reports are coming through that internet giant Garble.com, who recently made headlines for their accused bias in handling complaints, was under siege by flying monkeys. A spokesman for the high tech firm refused to drawn on the veracity of the statements, but did indicate that they had recieved myriad reports that forces who cant handle fair commentary and robust debate had ordered the monkeys to drive Dorothy from the land of Oz.

It is not known exactly how many flying monkeys are involved in the cyber-terror attack, but it is believed that they are demanding an end to democracy, even the pretense thereof, a cessation of balanced moderation, and the installation of a Left-Wing Taliban government.
Flying Monkeys vow to fight on until demands are met.

In other developments, the cowardly Lion resisted calls to open her comments section to all comments. "This is an outrageous suggestion! How can we be expected to be put under scrutiny? I am all for free speech, so long as it is me doing the speaking" said the Lion as she pensively wrung her tail.

Orble...where is my post???

June 27th 2009 14:00
OK, we need to understand each other Orble. We have only been dating for 24 hours and already you are speaking over me in public.(Deletion of my post.)
Now, it was certainly a robust post, but it was responding to equally robust attacks on the church.

Gay adoption: Caution!

June 27th 2009 04:19
Whatever one may think of the bedroom activities of our sexually unorthodox brethern, the real issue has got to be focused directly on the children. The claim is often made that this is about the children, and that if two people love each other, and the child...how can this be wrong?

But I say that given the time tested nuclear family relationship that most of us seem quite happy to participate in, we need to turn our focus to studies analysing the new situation being called for, namely gay couples wanting to adopt

on In response to anti-Catholic nonsense.

June 28th 2009 07:03
Sure....but there is a world of difference as to Pius the XII "doing more" to save Jews (hhow long is a piece of string), vis'a'vis the statement which got my ire..."the Catholic Church supported Hitler's attempt to exterminate European Jewry".
A world of difference!
That person is basically accusing the Catholic church of the Holocaust.
(NB: And I was accussed of being agressive!...hahahahahahaha.. ....hahahahahahahaha)

Thanks for your comments samaritan.
I think we are looking down the barrel of an anti-nuclear family agenda on this matter. Apparently we cant say that a child deserves a mother and a father without someone jumping up and down about how I am dictating to them.
It is really the other side of the looking glass sometimes.
Of course not every family is going to be complete in this sense, but that doesnt mean we have to re-define complete. Love is creative (but more about this in a future post).
I guess the point is we gain nothing by rushing to the lowest common denominator...this is not leading to the binding of our community, but rather it will lead to its splintering.

I like my definition better.
"An irrational fear and loathing of...x"

I think trying to convince my children of healthier lifestyle choices is quite rational.

Recommendations on the structure of such studies are way above my pay scale. Psychiatrists, Psychologists, Medicos are the people who should design and run the studies, and then their peers should review them as is common practice in the modern world.
The trouble I see is that people want to rush this decision when the negative affects could be significant.
And...I am not from Turkmenistan, I just dont want some poet laureate on my front lawn one morning.

Journey>yes, you keep asserting that you are a firm believer in this unorthodox behavior, however my problem is that I dont agree with you. I believe it can significant harm. Hence, I am suggesting that we need to study the matter in depth before proceeding down this path. I suggest the most comprehensive study we can on the social, psychological, medical, etc. aspects of the behavior, ranging over a period of time so that we may get some picture of what the true affects are.
Basically, like most issues in the modern world, we put each of our assumptions under critical pressure. That seems reasonable does it not?

Hitler did rise to power on a platform of ridding Germany of Jewish people, i know many people believe the rise of Hitler and the Holocaust were approved by the Catholic church, and supported by Catholic people
Morgan, I am beginning to see a common thread in your postings...but let me give you the benefit of the doubt.
Can you support that argument? Can you show me that the Catholic Church supported Hitler's attempt to exterminate European Jewry? Or were you just airing a common slander without the ability to support it?
