Another fine story - westpac bank rip off merchants.
Just a short note about another fine topic of humanity from WESTPAC BANK. Yeah I'll name the bank and ive even told them ill be doing this, their choice.
My poor 82 year old grandmother, struggling on her measly 2 two hundred and something dollars a week paid her visa bill the other day. Accordingly all on time.
She received her visa statement today in the mail to discover she had been charged $35 late fee for 9 cents she was owing.
Now that is just downright rude. She got on the phone to them and spent a good 30 minutes being as humble and polite as she could.
If theyll do this a a poor old lady that owes 9 cents imagine what they'd do to someone that owed $500 or $1,000 on a mortgage.

Gawd 1 cent, thats just madness. funny though how 1 cent does not really exist as legal tender anymore. Theoretically narrowed down to zero, but they charge you for it..1 cent....geesch. Cant buy a loaf of bread for $1.01 or a lolly for 51 cents but the banks still whallop you. Thats just madness hey!! Dang cheeky behaviour.

im so with you, I hate banks to the core, theyre the first to over lend to a persons budget and the last to give grace when people fall on tough times. Ive also seen some bank people (un named but you know who you are) refuse a business loan if they see a bargain and snap it up themselves. Happened to my Aunty and Uncle. The guy in mention got caught out and vanished to Queensland.
I think I have found a bank who seem really good to the people. Dont know what theyre like with loans and cards but I have my business and personal accounts with the Bendigo Bank. No bank fees...and any atm transactions after your monthly limit is 70 cents. Open till lunchtime on saturdays and I have never had one problem, their staff are just lovely at the branch I use, Narre Warren. They also support Animal Welfare
My original business account was with ANZ, pfffttt, $10 a month for peanuts, moved account to Bendigo bank, and no fees....yes guys, no fees on a business account.
WESTPAC and ANZ have lost total touch with humanity and clientel. And yeah they might do something nice, but theyll always take it back later on.
