Another day..another word
Okay so more like another 1,667 words!
I was able to tackle several more words last night which brings my grand total up to:
[john travolta - saturday night fever dance ensues]
I am slowly getting up to speed on my word quota. I am getting through the 1,667 words required each day and the adding for those naughty days at the beginning when I did SQUAT!!
It was last night at 11:40pm that I found myself struggling to continue on that I checked how many words I had done. To my suprise I had gone over 3,000 and in celebration went straight to bed. I have found that my Fox IQ has been stocking up on all my programmed shows and is running out of space (EEK!) and the whole 2 pages of my book that I read each night is painful considering I am so close to the end.
NANO HAS TAKEN OVER MY LIFE
Speaking of weird plots.....[shifty eyes] I found myself in a bit of a weird situation with my storyline last night. (other than my fingers cramping like nothing else)....I found that with my character I discovered a whole new area on the farm that I had been living on for a week. An impossible new area considering its an Australian farm and suddenly there is an aqua green lake on the property!!! Now I was going to twist it as a limestone lake........buuuuuuuut I dont know how Im going to pull this one off. Hahaha....
Now this brings me to my old days of writing as a kid. In fact I remember the first story I wrote in school about a secret island. It was the best thing ever because we made a little book out of it and HELLO it was covered in CLEAR CONTACT!! How special did we all feel!
Anyway...what was I getting at? Oh yeah (see Im so into Nano mode that I keep writing even my stupid thoughts that go on in my head just to add to my word count...lol...I think i'll need a shrink after this!!...Santa if you're listening...) ANYWAY...the difference I have found from my writing as a kid throughout school and now, other than there being the addition of fun stuff like curse words and sex scenes, was the ability to not care how correct my facts were. I could have had a girl swimming in a purple lake in the middle of Uluru and it wouldn't have mattered. These days I find that my need to have all facts correct, and to be 'believeable' are completely ruining my natural enjoyment of writing and any real creativity to come through (oh my god, did I just say that?).
Hmm...there I go again...being all thinking. And the above 453 words won't even count to my word quota! D'OH!!
Enough blogging for me today.
