School abuse inquiry “a failure”
The serious case review process in Wales is to be reassessed after the “failure” of an inquiry into the abuse of a six-year-old girl by classmates.
The girl was routinely assaulted both physically and sexually by 23 pupils of her own age group within the school grounds.
But the school and local council said the children’s young ages and lack of evidence meant little could be done.
In my days at school the teachers ruled, examples would have been made and a few of the ring leaders would have had sore bottoms, and the little girl would have been left in peace. Children deserves the protection of those in charge, not wishy washy, so called committees.
Bring back common sense.
