President Bush at the Olympics

August 19th 2008 23:19

President Bush, you've got to love him, pictured here holding the flag the wrong way and when May-Treanor turned her back to him, bent over and invited him to give her a good-luck slap on the butt, he obliged by brushing the back of his hand against the small of her back. .

So what's wrong with that, imagine what would have happened if he did, I can see the headline now.

Please help save our baby whale

August 19th 2008 21:45

The State Government have put out a call to help our baby humpback whale stranded and starving in Sydney. I can't understand why no one has tried something already - anything. What about a big container of milk and a large teat improvised somehow.

Get on with it for God's sake, surely there is someone out there who's got a brain?

Men with hairless chests are more likely to get cirrhosis of the liver than men with hair.

There are about one trillion bacteria on each of your feet.

Side by side, 2000 cells from the human body could cover about one square inch.

Women blink twice as often as men.

The average person's skin weighs twice as much as the brain.

When you are looking at someone you love, your pupils dilate. .. . .they do the same when you are looking at someone you hate!

Your ears secrete more earwax when you are afraid than when you aren't.

Your body uses 300 muscles to balance itself when you are standing still.

If saliva cannot dissolve something, you cannot taste it.

The average woman is five inches shorter than the average man.

Talented artist Greg Simkins

August 18th 2008 22:02

Greg "Craola" Simkins is a man who has no limits. His graffiti art has graced the streets of southern California for well over a decade. Over the last few years he has made a seamless transition into the world of pop surrealism. He is one of the few graffiti artists who has made such a clean break into fine art by reflecting a whole new style of illustration ability not seen in his street work. Greg says:

Taking a Tinkle

August 17th 2008 23:14

A woman pregnant with triplets was walking down the street when a masked robber ran out of a bank and shot her three times in the stomach. Luckily the babies were okay. The surgeon decided to leave the bullets in because it was too risky to operate. She gave birth to two healthy daughters and a healthy son

Hi Cheryl, My mother was strict with me too and I did the typical teenage rebellion thing and fought her all the way. Looking back I was a horrible daughter but of course as you get older you get wiser and I now realise she was right.

I like Ingrid's comment about mother's wanting to be their daughter's best friend, I don't think it's appropriate. A girl needs her mother in a different way to needing a friend, the two are totally different.

Nice to know your mother got it right, you obviously have a great relationship.
