Me the Detective!!!!

May 19th 2008 04:31
Hostel Lifes are always sweet memories of all horrible things. It used to be all fun and no work. Almost all of our nights used to go thinking how should we schedule our day to make the best out of it. Now thinking was such a difficult task and required so much of energy that we needed tea after all that elaborate planning and then we would sleep only with a thought that we would get up early and.......... the same old routine, late for lectures running around and no time to work. On one such night were my friends were making time tables (as usual). I decided to wash my long pending clothes. While washing clothes the bathroom adjacent to me was occupied but all I could hear was water flowing, wondering what the female would be doing I continued my work. Now in girls hostel females talking over the phone and forgetting the outside world is very common so I thought may be some new romance is in the air. I decided to join my friend in the mega task. After a span of an hour so on my second visit to the bathroom I discovered the bathroom to be still locked and water flowing , now my mind went suspicious (nancy drew novels help at times!!). I tried knocking the door-no response!! My mind started working faster ,thinking some one might be talking I tried over hearing (though bad habbit but u see I was being a detective then!!!) but then no one seemed to be talking. I got worried and so rushed back to my room and shared it with my roommates they were so ready to leave what they were doing and came with me to the bathroom. Now there were four girls of varied sizes trying to knock-Still no response, we decided that some female has attempted a sucide and we need to save her but how our legs were trembling so we called the entire lobby of girls and explained the pricarious situation. All of them got dressed ,combed their hairs ( they are supposed to look pretty 24X7 u see) and proceeded towards the bathroom. We all decided to break the door and so we did when the door opened all of them shouted at the top of thier voice- why no clue. To our shock what did we find- There was no one there (Sign ! ) some one had left the water tap open and may be banged the door a bit hard and our international standard doors obeyed strong orders only... phewww I would have saved some one that day
Before every one could figure our who the culprit was I simply ran to my room but still my lovely roomates toppled me like a rumali roti and needless to say we couldnt work that day either.

Life in Saudi Arabia

May 18th 2008 13:38
Life in Kingdom of Saudi Arabia Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, usually the first picture that one shall get is a land of restriction,a land that has confide itself to majorly only two colours say black and white. True I can't disagree the fact that it has confined itself to only two colours but its not a bad place to live. I am basically an Indian and have moved into KSA a few months back post my marriage.I to had many inhibitions about this place, the culture etc etc. But right from the moment I have arrived here neither have I felt any cultural shock nor any strange feeling which i was anticipating .Yes females do have to face certain restrictions like they have to wear a Abhaya(Black robe) when they are out, going out alone is a bit rare here(but women do go out). Working is some thing which is again rare, but again there are schools were one can get teaching jobs. So its actually not that bad as we all feel.

Women here are respected a lot (I enjoy that a lot!!!). Thrusday's and Friday's are family day out so single guys out there gonna be tuff time for you. Infrastructure is awesome here -I usually wear sport shoes for my weekly shopping so now u can guess how huge the malls out here are. Currently I stay at Taif which is a hill station in Saudi Arabia, but we do frequently visit Jeddah which is only 250 Kms from here. For all you homemakers who are planning to come here there is no need to worry you get all your food related stuffs and TV serials here so you wont miss any thing great. And how can I not mention food, dishes here are fantastic the best of the lot are phool and tamez (we make it a point to have it every friday and be live me I wait the whole week for friday). Phool is a gravy dish made out of various pulses (I am still searching for its recipe) and tameez is a huge big roti, the other lovely dish is mutabak-roti with egges in it.All I can say is its all a matter of perspective, change the way you look at things and things change the way they are. Life turns beautiful then. So go ahead and have a whole new experience Your text goes here

I,Me, Myself

May 18th 2008 12:52
Before I get into the grove of blogging on my ideas and experiences, I decided to introduce myself in the first place. Independent, enthusiatic, ambitious and fun loving ,these are the words that define me the best. Am a experimentalist by nature and hence it turns a difficult for me to accept a given information without answering the question why? Hence my maximum time goes finding solution for my uncatagorized doubts, many do get pissed on my this attitude but then its something which seems to be inbuilt.
After finishing my post graduate in physics I took up clinical research as my carrier and worked for an year, later got married and now I am full time homemaker. Trying to do something out of the ample amount of time that I have and hence I am here sharing learning the wonderful facts that life is waiting to teach.
Hoping to hear from many.

Cheers!
