According the the Science Channel's show, The Ultimate Guide: Elephants, an average elephant produces enough methane in one day to run a car 20 miles.

Amorous Elephants

Also from that show:

Elephants walk on their tippy toes, that is their toe bones are in the tippy toe positions inside their feet. That one is a funny one to picture.

Elephants eat their own ppop to get bacteria in their digestive tracts needed to break down the food that they eat.

An elephant can circulate it's 100 gallons of blood through it's ears every 20 minutes.

An elephant tooth can weigh up to 12 lbs.

An elephant trunk has more muscles than the human arm, has a better sense of smell than a dog's nose, and is as dexterous as the human hand.

Elephant's digestion creates enough heat to heat a small home. I need one for my living room this winter.

Come on kids - this is great class report material!
