AMAZING 2006 Formula 1 Season

2006 has been a great year in the History of Formula 1 full of events, turns and one big battle for the championship that many of us will never forget!!! Schumacher raced his last Grand Prix in Formula 1 while Alonso managed to win his second Title in a row becoming the youngest driver who won two consecutive titles... and to make his resume look even better... He did it while the Greatest Formula 1 Driver in History was still racing!!!
How did the 2006 season look like??
First 3 races were Renault dominated... Alonso winning in Bahrain and Australia and Fisichela scoring a win in Malaysia. Ferrari looked to be far less competitive than Renault even if Schumacher got the second place in Bahrain. The results that came after that race for Ferrari were one of the factors that brought Ferrari in second position at the end of the season both in Driver`s Championship and Manufacturers Championship...
Australia was a real nightmare for Ferrari, both Massa and Schumacher failing to finish the race!!!

San Marino was probably one of the best races of the season with Alonso and Schumacher fighting close for the win... Schumacher won it... and it look like a Ferrari comeback after 2 disapointing races... Massa finished in 4th place while Fisichela managed only to take the last point looking again as a shadow of Reanult`s number 1 driver!!! Ferrari confirmed in Europe winning again thanks to Michael Schumacher after a very interesting race which was won, the same as in San Marino thanks to the great job of Ferrari`s teams which manage to Set record Pit Stop times... compared to Renault and McLaren.
Spain has definetly been a race which had Alonso as the only Actor looking like a solo Race for him... easily winning with an 18 seconds over Michael Schumacher time! It was again a good race for Renault and the championship was looking more to be in Renaults bag!

Monaco... one of the most beautifull locations in Formula 1... showed us again a side of Michael Schumacher that maybe many of us don`t really agree with... He showed us that a great driver knows also to park a car at "the right time, in the right spot" forgeting that FIA has an eye on what`s happening and failing to see that such behaviour can only lead to canceling his result!!! Leaving this issue aside, Schumi made a great race and finished 5th after starting at the end of the grid!!! But Alonso won again and this looked only to be bad news for Schumacher! The second 2 races did nothing else than secure a comfortable lead for Alonso at the top of the Drivers Championship by winning 3 races in a row.

The USA Grand Prix announced two major changes in Formula 1: first banning the gadgets which has put Renault in front and second the announcement of Michelins last season in Formula 1. Renault seemed to lose as Ferrari got their first double in the season... and the Championship starting to look more and more interesting! France was again another good race for Ferrari and the season looked like a hunt for Michael Schumacher and Alonso the running duck! In Germany things looked better again and fans all over the world started believing more in The chances of the german Hunter and of the Italian team... Ferrari scoring again in a double just like at Indianapolis...

Hungary was probably the weirdest race in the 2006 calendar and the first race with rain since Formula 1 raced at Hungaroring... Both Michael and Alonso failed to finish after a race which looked in Alonso`s advantage at one time... then in Schumacher`s advantage... and finally Button had the winning ticket and took his first 2006 win... and the last!!!
Turkey has brought Formula 1 fans another great race... because of the fight betwen Schumacher and Alonso... Ferrari brought Massa to first place after a weird strategy on the pit lane due to the Safety Car being on track!!! Schumacher lost a lot because of that stop and had to struglle till the end with Alonso in front of him...
Monza was a sad race for Schumacher fans and also a happy one... Schumacher winning it while Alonso failed to finish due to engine problems which brought the German 10 points closer to Fernando in the Drivers Championship. Also the Big Sad News was official: At the end of the 2006 Season Schumacher was going to retire while Kimi Raikkonen was to be confirmed as a Ferrari Driver for 2007... This has been a great race for newbie Robert Kubica who got 3rd place...

China was Schumachers last victory in Formula 1 ... and also the last podium of his career!!! Alonso and Fisichella followed while Massa failed to finish the race!!!
Japan was probably the race which minimized Schumacher`s chances for the title... a great race but due to engine problems he didn`t finish it while Alonso scored yet another victory!!!
Brazil ... last race of the season and also last race in Formula 1 for Schumacher. The race had Massa in first place from start till finish with no one to botter him... Schumacher due to having engine problems in the last part of Saturdays qualifying session had to start from 10 th place... but after catching Fisichela and Alonso... and after a questionable behaviour from Fisichela in a fight betwen him and Schumi... Schumacher had to make a pit-stop with a flat tire... This made Schumi struggle in what was his last race in Formula 1... Nevertheless he did a great job and made a lot of take overs finishing in 4th spot!!! But Alonso again did a better job and took his 2nd consecutive championship!!! Congratulations Alonso... and also Congratulations Schumacher for giving us such a Good Show this Season!!!
