Almost former Raider fan says Goodbye(for now)

December 10th 2012 17:57
This season has been embarassing. This team is abosolutely lost.
Reggie Mckenzie needs to void everyones contratct at the end of the year and start over.
I know it cant be done, but they are even more pathetic than they were 5-6 years ago.

Drafting has been a total bust the past decade
jemarcus russ, darren Mcfadden, Mcclain , heyward bey. all busts.

Yes mcfadden and DHB.
Mcfadden cant stay on the field, and when he is on the field the stupid o-coordinatore blocking scheme is totally wrong for the team.
DHB may be a decent player one day, but the sixth pick? please.
mcclain and his troubles were once welcomed by the team. but in those days the troublemakers were winning. there is no place in the league for what amounts to a child ending up with too much money, too fast and absolutely no guidance and discipline.(see jamarcus russell)
Like many Raider fans i was happy to see Carson Palmer as our QB. but lets be honest, it may be time to trade palmer, D Mac, DHB for what we can get for them, see if pryor can play QB and start over.
But , until this team starts to show some signs of life and professionalism, I am afraid I shall have to change my rooting interests. I have been a loyal fan since they beat the Eagles in the Super Bowl. I have stuck with them through the Jay Schroeder,Rusty Hilger ,Marc Wilson years. I have stuck with them through the 90s when they always seemed to be around .500 and since their last Super bowl when getting 7 wins would have felt like the playoffs.

I loved the Raiders so much, my late wife even bought me the Raiders leather jacket, blanket , throw pillow , pajamas, etc. I wore them proudly.
I cant do it anymore. not in public. they gave up 55 points to BALTIMORE!
I like the Ravens offense, with Rice, Flacco and Boldin, but 55 points?

so, for now, I am giving up 31 years of fandom. 3/4 of my life, all but 3 of my active football rooting years. it hurts to give it up. But not as much as watching this team , yearning for the old days.
Good luck Raiders! I will be watching. waiting for the day when i can PROUDLY call you my team again.
