ALDS 2008: Red Sox Vs LA Angels
October 2nd 2008 07:36
The first round of this series is very interesting. The team who many view as the favorite to take down this years world series as the Angels and the defending champion Boston Red Sox. THe angels took 8 of 9 from the Red Sox this year in the regular season but the trend flip flops in the postseason. With tonights 4-1 victory, the Red Sox have won 10 staright against the Angels in the postseason! Ten straight is a heck of an achievement. Behind a big home run from Jason Bay, an outstanding all-around effort from Jacoby Ellsbury and seven innings of one run ball from Jon Lester, the Red Sox took game one of the series. Boston showed while it is World Champs. Jacoby Ellsbury had two steals several hits and a massive sliding catch in the eigth, the wound up saving one if not two runs. Bay, who had struck out twice before the homer, belted one into the left field seats from Boston's eventual winning run. Jon Lester continues to impress everyone around baseball. After fighting off cancer, throwing a no-hitter this year, he dominates game one of the 2008 ALDS and looks like a superstar in the making to complement Josh Beckett. THe Angels need to play hungry for the game two win as going down 2-0 to the defending champs is a undertoe no one on the Angels wants to step into.
