Best and Fairest winners in 2008! Part 5

February 13th 2008 10:16
St.Killda: Nick Riewoldt
Who else is going to take the B&F award off Riewoldt. Sure there are alot off fantastic mplayers down at moorrabin but none of them can compare to the incredible abilities of this tall, strong and super skilled, super fit center half forward. He is about to take the captaincy one handed and still have that extra hand to tare apart opposition defences. You could ask as many people as u want about who is going to win the award and i rekon almost all of them will say this name... Riewoldt!

Sydney: Adam Goodes
The 2x brownlow medalist, 2x best and fairest winner, and 2x All-Australian is a great bet to place on the B&F in 2008. The tall midfeilder is still at his best even though he is turning 28 in 08. So he is still young enough to win it and the team is still a very good team so maybe Goodes will again come out with a sensational season.

West Coast: Daniel Kerr
Though he has just done a hammy i still think Kerr is the prime choice for the B&F. There is no more Judd or Cousins so that means that Kerr will have to step up even more (if possible) and take hold of a team that looks like it could take the wrong direction, quickly. He will have to contest with the likes of Priddis who will take a midfeild postition this season and add a bit of relief for him but Priddis just mite win the B&F himself. But whatch out everyone Kerr mite just go one better in 08.

Wetsern Bulldogs: Daniel Cross
Cross had a massive blow to his great 05 and 06 seasons with a knee injury ruining his run in 2007. Cross will be eager to make amenns in 08 and right when the dogs need him too.
This underated ball winner could take his game to a higher level this season if he gets over the injury and fast. He will contest the award with lthe likes of Cooney and Last years winner Lake (formally known as Harris). But i truly beleive Cross can become an even better player for the Dogs in 2008!

Best and Fairest winners in 2008! Part 4

Kangeroos: Daniel Wells
Wells has been dubbed a future best and fairest winner for the last 3 years and i think it's just about his time to shine. The speedy midfeilder has had some great seasons behind him and i think its time he had to step up if the roos are trying to win a premiership over the couple of seasons. One of the things i beleive he needs to improve on is his ability to take the opponents on and run with the ball, he just doesn't do it enough. We all know he can do it and turn a game on its head and he needs to get more of the ball too.

Melbourne: Brock McClean
McClean has just recently been promoted to the leadership group and with the likes of McDonald and Bruce gettin older McClean needs to show that he is a fair contender for the captaincy and he needs to bring his determind, skilled midfeilder ability up an extra level to compete as a real on-baller/insider midfeilder and take the deamons to the top again.

Port Adelaide: Chad Cornes
Personelly i thin k that Chad Cornes can do even better then he is doin so far in his career. I know he is a superstar All-Australian and premiership player but i beleive he could also add a Best and Fairest to the list as early as next year. I think the only down side to Cornes' game is that he is now almost 30 years old and time isnt really on his side as much as Kanes' is so that could mean a bit of a gamble if you are going to bet on him to win it, but you just never know when it comes to those Cornes brothers and their incredible football abilities.

Richmond: Nathan Foley
Realisticcally Foley should've easily smashed the B&F last year for the tigers, not to down richo or anything he had his fair share of close calls in the B&F himself but everybody knows Foley was Richmonds best player last season, after all he almost made All-A ustralian selection at the end of the year. Foley's incredible ability to run and carry the ball, break the lines and get as much of the footy as Mitchell or Cornes and being only 23 this year he is only going to get better, smarter and more matured over the next couple of years so he is a definate candinate for every Richmond best and fairest over the next 4-5 years.

Best and Fairest winners in 2008! Part 3

February 12th 2008 06:08
Essendon: Jobe Watson
I think Jobe Watson is a bit of a gamble for the B&F this season but he wins alot of the ball and he is only 24 this year so he is a long shot but who knows, this year may just be his year. Things he needs to improve on are his disposal efficiency and his decision making. He may have to comtend with players like Scott Lucas (again this year), Brent Stanton (who is also a good bet) and even Dustin Fletcher but i beleive he has the goods to go all the way this year for the bombas!

Fremantle: Matthew Pavlich
Well what can i say, he is a 5 times All-Australian, a 4 times B&F winner already, 4 times leading goalkicker, he finished runner-up in the 2007 coleman medal and he is their club captain. There is a big advantage right there in front of you, plus he is only still 27 this year so he just about already won the award now. You could just about write everyone else off now because the Pavlova machine is going to have another fantastic season in front of him.

Geelong: Gary Ablett Jr
The 2007 B&F winner and AFLPA MVP award winner in 07 aswell is only going to get better with age. He of course will have almost the whole Geelong FC team to contend with but this Goalkicking/ball winning midfeilder has matured alot over the summer and with a premiership medallion in his trophy cabinet combined with his awards he got last year will only make Ablett more hungry to succeed again in 2008!!!

Hawthorn: Sam Mitchell
Newly appointed club captain should've won the award in 2007 after he finished equal 5th in the Brownlow Medal and only just missed out on an All-Australian selection. This ball winning machine magnet with extreame endurance and determination will also have alot of players to contend with. With the likes of Hodge, Lewis, Brown, Sewell (last years winner) and maybe even 'Buddy' Franklin but there is no doubt in my mind Mitchell will be the one to lead the hawks out into what looks to be a great season for the hawks!

Best and Fairest winners in 2008! Part 2

February 10th 2008 10:34
Adelaide: Scott Thompson
One of the leaders in the group, this extreamly damaging midfeilder with incredible ball winning skills is a sort of a long shot to win the B&F for the crows in 08 but when he is at the top of his game he can win matches and when the crows are up and running you'll know Thompson will be there contributing well so ther is no reason why can't he win it in 2008 if the crows can string a couple of matches together.
