Advertising Madness
I don`t really watch much TV, but since I have been in the UK and have not had my home comforts around me, I have found myself stuck infront of the box on a more regular basis. I noticed that the ads used for kiddies lunch box snacks were a little... off putting to say the least. Surely you would want them to be ENTICED into eating these snacks, not chasing them away from it. I certainly know that if I were a 5 year old and saw these ads I wouldn`t be asking mummy for them for my lunch box...
There is also one in Australia, which I cannot find the YouTube video on. It is for Bega Stringers and has something to do with these happy little cheese stick people who then get ripped apart by the kids who eat them.
Not being a parent i don`t know what a kids reaction to this sort of advertising is? What do you think?

Mum's Word
I had to watch that twice. I wasn't quite sure what it was advertising.
As for what would my kids think of it? I think they'd be just as confused as I am.

Ah sorry I should have said - it`s for peperami which is like a salami stick.
Although I think these ads are funny myself I just wonder what impact they would have on kids who see these animated 'creatures' prancing around the screen and then appearing in their lunch boxes

Yeah they`re the English version of salami sticks. I thought it was funny too, but I wondered what kids would think about it? Seems a strange way to want to get them to eat the stuff!

That`s interesting that you mention about boys - I wonder what the girls think about it and if there would be a different reaction from them?
I have seen the cheese sticks one actually... good how it makes them wonder

Don`t worry when I was in England I heard that when most kids were asked who Churchill was they said the dog from the insurance ad... you sorta need to know UK Tv to get that... but youTube Churchill, UK and you will see!!! I was gobsmacked! My kids are gonna grow up to be such nerdy, dirt eating cavepeople!
