Rob Zombie's Halloween

February 2nd 2008 08:37
I just got though watching Rob Zombie's version of the classic horror film, "Halloween". It was fantastic! It was better than the original! It gives an in-depth look at the story of Micheal Myers. Whereas the original told the story of pure evil going on a killing spree, Rob Zombie's version goes deeper. His story is not as simple as that. Micheal Myers story, instead, gets told from a very human perspective. You get to see Micheal as a boy. You get to see his family, not just the scene of him walking up the stairs to kill his sister like in the original, but breakfast with the family. You understand Micheal and you follow his story almost like a documentary at times. He is a very complex person, like the rest of us, not just plainly evil. Rob Zombie did an Excellent job of showing us just how complex and human Micheal Myers really is. I even cried for Micheal. I won't tell you when, but I did. This was a very smart piece, indeed.

Mr. Bean

September 3rd 2007 04:36
Hello again. I know I have not posted in a while. I'm sorry for that.

Currently, I am waiting to see the new Mr. Bean movie. Mr. Bean's Holliday. I am a definite Mr. Bean fan and I have the T-shirt to prove it.

For those of you who don't know. Mr. Bean is a character that the British actor Rowan Atkinson created. There has been the Mr. Bean series on TV. The movie Bean that came out about 10 years ago, give or take. The cartoon series and now the current film. There could be other stuff I'm unaware of, but that is what I know. The character is almost entirely pantomime. He speaks seldomly. Rowan Atkinson is a wonderful pantomime. I have seen him play an invisible piano so well you would be astonished that he was not truly playing a present, but "invisible" piano! I'm not 100% sure he's independent, but anything Mr. Bean is certainly worth your time to see. There's even a website I ran across last night www.mrbean.com

Other things Rowan Atkinson has been in:

Black Adder
Four Weddings and a Funeral (the priest)

Review: Karaoke Night

June 21st 2007 22:23
When I first saw the title of this short film, I said to myself, "Sounds Great!". Although, the storyline was different from what I expected, I was not wrong. Not only did I laugh, I was also amazed at how professional the film looked. It was expertly done by the writer, director, producer, (and guy who played Clark) Jason Michael Brescia. Not only did he manage to write dialogue with clever and funny refereces to 1997, but he also has a sense for characters and visuals that are sure to make you laugh. It all takes place at a karaoke bar in 1997. It's got friends, exes, hilarious karaoke performances and Eric Stanton's portrayal of T-Brow is not to be missed. If you've got 12 minutes to watch a short film on the internet and you need a good laugh, this is the one to watch. But if you're at work, don't do it in earshot of your boss, you will laugh out loud.

Here's a Link to the film so you can see for yourself:

On The Lot

June 12th 2007 20:41
I watched On The Lot last week. They were showing the short films that some of the filmmakers had made for their last assignment. I did not see the first film that they showed, so I cannot really say anything about that one except that the short clip I saw looked like it would be something I would have liked, certainly on a visual basis. I liked the film "Terri". I thougt that was good. By far my favorite, though, was "Dough: The Musical. It was perfect. It was done in true musical form. It had a visually pleasing coreographed musical number in the bakery with the baker surrounded by girls swirling about him. That was my favorite part. The film was made by Adam Stein.

Tonight they are showing more of the short films. I will definitely be watching. Who were your favorites? Comment on this and tell me about it
