Addictee: Fashion Police (7/29)

Heyyyyy! This is the 25th installment of my Fashion Police, week in review. Every Thursday I'm going to click my way through www.people.com 'Last Night's Look: Hit or Miss?' and tell you what I like and what I didn't (And a few from hollywoodlife.com). This will have to be enough to fend off my Fashion Addiction until Project Runway returns(It’s tonight)! Here we goooooo
And in case you missed my Project Runway SCOOP, here it is! Project Runway returns on July 29th (TONIGHT! on Lifetime) an hour earlier (9PM) AND it will be 90 minutes long (instead of the 60 minutes it has been!) And it looks like Models of the Runway is done-zo. With the make-over show starring Season 1’s 4th place finisher, Austin Scarlett and Season 2’s 3rd place finisher Santino Rice called “On The Road” to take it’s place, premiering at 10:30PM!
MORE Project Runway SCOOP! The first guest judge of the season will be Selma Blair! And she’ll help the rest of the judges decide who will be the top 16 designers (This year they narrowed it down to 17). The first challenge, is being called “the last of the audition rounds” will have each designer creating a garment (in 5 hours), using a “signature piece” from a competitor’s luggage. I'm in a very fashion forward mood this week... example:
LIKE - Heidi Klum in this fashion-forward white ensemble (plunging jumpsuit with tapered legs) accented with a cropped black jacket and red platforms to the Season 8 premiere of Project Runway in NYC. It’s definitely fashion forward, but I think she looks radiant in it.
USE OF COLOR
LOVE – Nicole Kidman in green pattern Prada vintage dress, nude peep-toes and beautiful curls to the Hollywood Foreign Press Association Installation Luncheon in Beverly Hills. I absolutely love this color on her, and think the silhouette suits her plus the hair and make-up are spot on.
LIKE – Eva Mendes in this peach chiffon Dior dress and blush accessories (including Brian Atwood pumps) to the Comic-Con party in San Diego, CA. It reminds me of a dance outfit, but I think she pulls it off through accessories. The thing that kept it a like, not a love though is the hair and make-up, which were both over-done.
HATE – Shenae Grimes in a draped green silk dress with classic quilted bag and nude pumps for the CW and Showtime Summer Press Tour Party in Beverly Hills. I think she’s really brightened up her face with the hair and make-up she’s been sporting lately, but I still feel she dresses far too old for her age.
CREAM OF THE CROP
LOVE – Ashley Tisdale in a cream-on-cream ensemble, pairing a shiny mini-skirt with a cap sleeved top and nude accessories (including nude and studded platforms) to the CW and Showtime Summer Press Tour Party in Beverly Hills. I think the skirt shows off her mile-long legs and think it’s mature and summery.
LIKE – January Jones in a beaded white Atelier Versace halter mini-dress with nude patent Brian Atwood pumps for the Mad Men screening in NYC. It’s a retro-throwback kind of dress, but then she pairs it with fashion-forward hair, and somehow I like it…
HATE – Audrina Patridge in a strapless cream Ina Soltani mini-dress with strappy sandals to the Hills farewell party in London. For me, she used a bit too much bronzer here, and the dress lacks some class.
VARIATIONS IN BLACK
LOVE – Vanessa Hudgens in a cut-out Black Halo mini-dress with gold jewels and spotted sandals to Comic-Con. This borders the sexy/too sexy line and I think she lands on the sexy side by slivers of an inch.
LIKE – AnnaLynne McCord in a plunging black mini-dress paired with mesh heels to the CW and Showtime Summer Press Tour Party in Beverly Hills. Now, she definitely has the body for it, and I love the slick hair and make-up, but it’s just a little too sultry for me.
HATE – Angelina Jolie in a silky black gown while promoting Salt in Seoul, South Korea. This shapeless dress does nothing for her figure, and the fabric seems odd to me, plus I think the hair and make-up (at least in this picture) makes her appear older than she is.
JEANS
LOVE – Cameron Diaz in a striped t-shirt, flared blue jeans, Melinda Maria jewelry and a Ferragamo belt with walking around Paris. I would take this outfit and where it in a heartbeat. I think the jeans fit her perfectly and the whole outfit screams comfort and cool.
LIKE – Eva Longoria Parker in a black blazer, aviators and skinny jeans with heels while out and about in LA. I just think the whole outfit WORKS.
HATE – Tori Spelling in a super cute belted fuchsia top, but she paired it with faded flare jeans that were just awful to her Uncharted TerriTORI book signing in Pasadena, CA.
STYLE MAVEN OF THE WEEK – JESSICA BIEL
Usually on the red carpet Jessica's far too fashion-forward for my tastes, and her street style is a bit of a bore. But this week, maybe it's because I'm so excited for Project Runway to return, but Jessica's fashion risks really stood out to me in a positive way this week...
Jessica Biel in a draped black and white one-sleeve dress by Vionnet, House of Lavande jewels and classic Sergio Rossi pumps to the A-Team premiere in Madrid. Her hair is absolutely stunning, and I want to give props for her fashion-forward sensibilities.
Jessica Biel in a cinched and flowing red gown by Giambattista Valli, with black belt and under-roos, paired with a Tiffany & Co. clutch and Neil Lane diamond earings to the London premiere of the A-Team. I love the color on her, and though I would never go near the dress, she pulls it off.
Jessica Biel in a white ruffled blouse, lime peplum skirt and Roger Vivier buckle-top flats paired with chunky accessories while out in London. I particularly like the “out of the box”-ness of the outfit, and think it’s both business and summer casual.
