In my last blog I wrote about Hell's Kitchen. I love Hell's Kitchen and Gordon Ramsey but the season premiere came on during my favorite show, Man V. Food. If you have never seen Man versus Food then you are missing something huge in the "Foodtainment" industry. Adam is a food fanatic. He has worked restaurant jobs and now he is roaming the country looking for local food "challenges". This is not competitive eating like you see at festivals and fairs. You know, a line of people sticking thier faces into blueberry pie. Know this is different and it's on the Travel chanel so its gotta have travel with it right? And there are two types of challenges, the huge plate of food challenge (5 pounds and up) and the heat challenge, where we are introduced to such infernos as the ghost chili pepper that is 400 times hotter than a jalapeno and Adam must eat food made with it.
I love On Demand. Travel channel had lots of hit shows on there an MVF is one of them. WE saw the new episode from Butte, Montana where Adam was going to take on the 5 pound Jumboli Stromboli. Butte is Big Sky country and it's a quite charming town. Adam visits two restaurants before he undertakes his challenge. What the heck is a "Pasty"? I kept asking my wife that after he kept saying pasty after this guy's name. I didn't know if it was his last name or the name of the food.
Oh my goodness a pasty is wonderful food. We want to visit Montana very soon. As for the food, we like to watch food shows but we dont eat overeat. Man Versus Food has become a phenomenon because, I believe, Adam Richmond is so likeable, not like some folks at Food Network that are down right obnoxious. No we feel for Adam, it's like want to give him a hug when he gets it trouble sort of thing. And Adam either has his face and mouth on fire or he has hit the food wall. Well this is one show we will always watch and now we watch it for the locations too.
