September 24th 2007 03:01
This weekend Julie Taymor's movie Across the Universe , a pop musical that tells the story of the sixties through the songs of the Beatles goes into wide release in theatres across the US. In it, Bono sings "I Am the Walrus." This got me to thinking about great Beatle Cover Songs.

Joe Cocker didn't do too bad a job of "With A Little Help from My Friends".
On the other side of the ledger (and perhaps this is another post altogether) How about William Shatner's - so laughable it deserves its own hall of fame listing rendition of "Lucy in the Sky With Diamonds".
Always enjoyable, always entertaining - LYW.

I had so forgotten William Shatner's version of "Lucy".
HAHAHAHA Thanks for reminding me (I think)
Joe Cocker's version of "With a Little Help..." is certainly a classic! Thanks for the kind words.

John Farnham ( have you heard of him) did Help. But he slowed the tempo right down and really sang the song, full of emotion.
Love & stuff
