Ack! that's my Dad!
A violent hold-up at a Beechboro newsagency was thwarted last night when staff overpowered an armed man in a balaclava.
About 7pm, just as the newsagency at the Altone Park Shopping Centre was closing, a man confronted two staff with a sawn-off .303 rifle, demanding that they move into the shop’s back room.
A police spokesman said the employees managed to wrestle the gunman to the ground, despite the gun going off during the struggle.

My sister sent me a message today telling me the dad my dad's been managing for my cousin was mugged but an armed man. Soon she sent me the link to that article above.
Ack! the guy had a rifle?! (sewn off, I assume to hide it?). It also went off! Thank Goodness my dad and my cousin were fine.
It was gutsy hey even decided to fight him off, but I'm not sure how these things go in Australia, I know that here in the Philippines, it's better you don't fight them, they won't hurt you.
I was scared, my dad's turning 54 on Monday... at this moment where I'm in a very rocky marriage and trying to deal with a lot of trials in my life, the last thing I need is this incident happening to my dad down under. they were staying for just another 3 months and then come back home for good.
I think they're cutting it shorter because of this. It may not be too serious, but it is for my dad who's getting a bit old. He was there to save up and put up his dream restaurant here 3 months from now. he hates being away from his daughters, even when my dad went there with him this time.
I'm thankful to God he didn't get hurt. Thankful that bullet did not hit him or my cousin or my cousin's bestfriend.
When it rains it pours indeed... i have God as my roof...
