Julia Gillard is the symbol for all young girls' to aspire to. Too many young girls look up to people like Paris Hilton, Kim Kardashian, The Jersey Girls, Lindsay Lohan, Loony Lady Gaga and many more.
What's the world coming to?
Maybe if we stop looking at those ditsy girls, they will turn into dust and disappear... "like, yeah!"
First Australian Woman Prime Minister gives hope to all women
Julia Gillard exuded strength, confidence, humility, a hard work ethic, commitment, leadership and a sense of humor in her speech yesterday. She said she "stepped up and took responsibility". That is something that is missing in young people today. And she made a statement without uttering a single word - she told young Australian women that anything is possible.
Who would have thought it possible a woman would become Prime Minister of Australia. We should be proud! Sure, she was not officially elected by the Australian people... yet.
One hundred years ago, women weren't in Parliament AT ALL. In 1921, the first woman managed to get elected into the Western Australian Legislative Assembly. The first woman to enter Federal Parliament didn’t get elected until the 1940’s. We have come a long way since those archaic days…
Julia Gillard PM – Woo-hoo!
It's a massive achievement for this country! I'm proud that Julia not only achieved all that she has in her career to rise to the status of Deputy Prime Minister who handled Acting Prime Minister extremely well, and then stepped up to the massive challenge of being the first woman Prime Minister ...with a small technicality - unelected by the Australian people. And she knows she has much to prove, I am sure many people will remind her of that.
She has guts to take on the role of being the first woman Prime Minister of Australia... she could have walked away and said "no". To say "no" is to fear the possible. Aim high and you CAN achieve the impossible.
The events of yesterday will forever be marked in our history books, regardless of what the future holds. The precedent has been set, and she’s the catalyst for future women Prime Minister’s of Australia.

Queen Elizabeth I ruled England for 44 years. She faced religious & political turmoil but brought stability to her country.
