About Present Day theory (LINK)

October 27th 2007 06:33
When I first began managing Present Day Theory they were known as "One Bad Day" the guys thought it was a very dismal band name and after some talk, Present Day Theory came to be.

I have not been managing them for too long, since about April '07.

I had a callout for an emergency fill slot at a gig in inner melbourne, Present Day Theory responded to the ad amongst a few hundred others. I spoke with Camron on the phone and we hit it off immediately, he came across as mature, well spoken and has an incredible approach and beliefs to his music and the way it should be structured and handled.

We talked for ages on that first phone call, it was the type of immediate bonding that you do not find all to often. Their music was great to listen to and for myself as a Band manager, I could see that this was one band I could relate to and I love their music to bits.

Ultimately, they gained the emergency fill in set on four days notice. It was support for an Interstate band. MOH VAN WAH.

Withing a matter of days from the first phone call, myself and Present Day Theory met up at a CAFE in Aspendale to meet and see how we went and talked about ideas. Everything gelled beautifully and our minds were on the correct paths together.

Since then, all i've seen is the most inseparable tight knit group I could ever dream. Many bands could take a note from this bands book.

In the space of 4 Month's managing Present Day Theory, nothing has remained stagnant for to long. Starting our first gig as team in a small in Melbourne suburb dark, dank venue, booming to larger venues, gaining support for Thirsty Merc, Grinspoon and Noiseworks. Not to mention their upcoming album launch on December 9th at the Corner Hotel in Richmond, counteracting with their first Interstate album launch tour and more than to mention, radio airplay and live interviews.

Their music is rocky, filled with beautiful vocals and a mature sound that we just dont get all to often these days. Commercial and radio friendly to the masses. They have captivated many major palyers in the industry, so all we need to do now is keep rocking and show them how it is done.

Present Day Theory upcoming gigs are

14th November - Cameron Holmes solo - Chaise Lounge, Melbourne
23rd November - Jamison Hotel, Macquarie, ACT
24th November - Mac's Hotel - Kilmore, Victoria
27th November - The Tote, Collingwood, Victoria
9th december - Album Launch - The Corner Hotel, Richmond
16th December - The Espalandae Hotel, St kilda

Coming into the new year, more Interstate gigs to be listed soon.
