Abortion

The issue of abortion has been debated for a long period of time. Many people carry different opinions and feel very passionate about this topic, which can lead to many fights and arguments. However, people need to understand that every person's opinion should be respected because it can be indirectly offensive towards that person's culture, religion and upbringing.
People who don't think that abortion is right, generally uphold the notion that aborting a child is equivalent to murdering a child. For many, it is against their religion but they can also believe that every child is a gift from God that should not be destroyed.
People who don't think that abortion is wrong generally uphold the idea that arboting a baby is dependent on the mother's decision because at the end of the day it is the mother's body and life that will change forever. It can be extremely emotionally damaging for any woman despite the reasons they have, which concludes why they want to abort their baby. However, for some women there is just no way out.
Both arguments are strong arguments and this is why such a conflict is created. Personally, i do believe that having a child is a blessing and it is something that should be cherished, however depending on certain circumstances i can understand why women would opt for an abortion.
Have your say and share your opinion with the rest of the community!!

I believe it's a combination of both science and ethics that can help us in amorally justifiable way solve this issue. In my opinion conception does not yield a human being, what it yields is like an egg, or a seed if you will. We can metaphor this into like a construction site for a house. It is not a house until all the crucial elements are installed, that is walls, doors and a roof. It is not a house you can live in until there is furniture, and its hooked up to gas and electricity. Yet it sitll is a house.
THe human embryo actually gains consciosness from within inside the womb, at this point I will not accept abortion any better than I would if the baby was to be born then killed in cold blood. It is a fully living breathing being by this point. Before this, we have to find the point at which the developing embryo can be classified as human.
In my opionion what defines, or should define a human being is what keeps a humanbeing alive. In my opinion an independantly beating heart is the only factor to define a living human. The embryo's heart begins beating at around 12 weeks after conception (bare in mind I might be wrong in that number). It is very precise when it does start beaing actually and there is very little in the way of variation when this happens between embryo to embryo.
At this point I believe the embryo can now be classified as a human being, it's vital parts (heart, brain) have been constructed and its heart operates on its own. Killing this being is killing a human because to kill a human you must keep its heart from beating.
