A Promise Broken
December 29th 2008 23:54
This poem is about the way my anxiety
sometimes, takes control of my life. And
keeps me from clearly seeing the the world around.
For, awhile, I feel like I could just give up.Or
like, I've not, a chance, at accomplishing my
goals.Kind of like, I am breaking a promise to myself.
But, I know, that as, sure as, I
have this evil, cloud right now.It will,
go away, sooner or later.
A Promise Broken
I see those eyes, peeking at me
from both sides.
As, I attempt to make truth,
of my desires.
And yet, within all this confusion
that I now lie.
A bitter delusion
has claimed my time.
Therefore, I am blind to the
understanding, of a single
rhyme.Therefore, the
pages oft, I'd written on
exist, no more.
And words, sworn
of promise to thine self
have been shattered.
But, give up,
one might ask?
And, I, to them reply
perhaps, for today,
but, not eternally.
A promise made, is broken
but, left intact, is the dream.
sometimes, takes control of my life. And
keeps me from clearly seeing the the world around.
For, awhile, I feel like I could just give up.Or
like, I've not, a chance, at accomplishing my
goals.Kind of like, I am breaking a promise to myself.
But, I know, that as, sure as, I
have this evil, cloud right now.It will,
go away, sooner or later.
A Promise Broken
I see those eyes, peeking at me
from both sides.
As, I attempt to make truth,
of my desires.
And yet, within all this confusion
that I now lie.
has claimed my time.
Therefore, I am blind to the

have been shattered.

And, I, to them reply

A promise made, is broken
but, left intact, is the dream.
