A Nice Dollop of Patience
September 7th 2010 19:16
We often think that keeping a cool head in the midst of a difficult situation is patience. Then there are the little things, the ins and outs of everyday life.
Warning, if we turn our back on them they can rise up and consume us with a passion that only a Christian could identify with. Patience comes when we are able to accept a situation for what it is.
Now we do not have any trouble winning a lottery or living in our parent’s home, but being broke and the rent is due plays a different tune on our conscience. Paul says he has learnt to live in any situation. At first reading, it may sound like stupidity but I can assure you it is not.
When times are bad we know they will get better and this is where patience kicks in. A patience that tells us it will get better. When we have a time of plenty, it is a good time to be generous and to squirrel a portion away.
