A little cricketing history lesson
October 21st 2008 23:33
The funniest thing happened the other night...I was watching some old cricketing videos on youtube and surprise surprise surprise guess what I saw? Dennis Lillee having an on field spat with Kim Hughes. Imagine that! Now when I turn to cricinfo the other night I read exactly the same thing about Lee and Ponting. The main quickie having an argument with the captain.
Can you imagine that Kim was leading a team that was eerily similar to Pontings? They were an older side whose time was coming up and where the captain would get savaged both inside and outside of the team? I would think that if they don't want history to repeat itself, (barring rebel trips to South Africa...these days it could be rebel 20/20 players) the team needs to know how to spot the danger signs of a team that could very well implode.
