i can show you a world where
screaming's never heard
your lonely hand is all you
have by your side and it
leaves you wondering how
did this happen after my
life was so
perfect. leaving me there to thrive
in a new time which remains
changing perpetually at the
world's whim you dangle
dreading what will happen if
the grip is gone, but loathing
each twist of death's fingers
around your neck as he
teases playfully at your
despair so choose wisely
to suffer or be surprised

abandoned at the silver lining
wasn't meant to survive
the fears have all come true
left relying on only you
my heart is soaring just
to crash onto the same cloud
cloud eight, one short of heaven
but it seems so close to hell
you begin to wonder if you
will ever say her face
again loneliness takes hold
