HOW LONG A CHILD BE BREASTFED?World Health Organization Says 'Upto Two Years A Child Should Be Breastfed Along With Appropriate Nutrients'.Some Mothers do so till the baby be Six-Months Old. . .Some upto One Year. .Some upto Two Years. .A few upto more than Two. . .!THERE IS NO SPECIFIC PATTERNS REGARDING 'BREASTFEEDING' ,BUT,EVERYONE AGREES THAT IT'S A SHEER JOY AND NECESSITY OF BEING A MOTHER!
MOTHERHOOD IS THE HIGHEST,RATHER,GREATEST MANIFESTATION OF THE CREATION AND IT IS WORTHY OF BEING REVERED!!

Tomorrow Is Mother's-Day.Ti me Magazine,which is unarguably one of the 5 best magazines in the world,has dedicated its recentissue to MOTHERHOOD,BREA STFEEDING,ATTAC HED PARENTING. ..et.al in order to highlight parenting in our times,especiall y,inside the States.
The Cover Of This Magazine hit public eyes two days ago And,THE HELL BROKE LOOSE,so to say!The Reason:- Its Cover-Photo!
Time's Cover has a photo of a 26yrs Young well styled Mom breastfeeding her 3yrs and 9months old child in a quite strange fashion.The Mother wearsa fit tight jeans and a fashionable top,the child who is touching 4yrsis shown on a wooden-prop in order to reach his mom's breast,the lady looks sideway(towards the photographer) and the boy sucking nipples!
THIS HAS CREATED TENS OF THOUSANDS REACTIONS WORLDWIDE. . .which could be sensed by going through the number of comments posted on various newspapers,maga zines and blogs on net!
The Mother On The Cover Is 'JEAMIE LYNNE GURMET' who is a 26yrs old mother living in Los Angeles And Of Course A Real Mother.She Is Also A Blogger Writing About Parenting and Nourishing Children.
JEAMIE doesn't feel awkward in giving such pose that has shocked countless mothers for two reasons primarily : A).BREASTFEEDIN G IS A VERY PRIVATE THING AND SHOULD NOT HAVE BEEN DISPLAYED LIKE THIS.
B).NOT QUITE HEALTHIER AN ACT OF BREASTFEEDING A CHILD WHO IS 3/4 YEARS OLD.
Jimie Lynne seems unperturbed saying that breastfeeding is a verywarm bonding between a child and his/ her mother and it is basically biological in nature.SHE SAYS SUCH ACT MIGHT NOT BE 'SOCIALLY ACCEPTABLE',BUT,IT IS VERY MUCH 'BIOLOGICALLY RIGHT' .
She further said she was breastfed till 6yrs and is very proud of her parents. . .her father was a nutrition-exper t.
Around 75% american mothers nurse their children well,but,not more than 40% mothers breastfeed their offsprings beyond 6months.
'ATTACHED PARENTING' was coined by DR.WILLIAM SEARS and his wife MARTHA SEARS in their famous book, 'THE BABY BOOK' in 1992.
Since then it has been in practice to whatever extent people feel comfortable of .
'ATTACHED PARENTING' revolves around 3 basic postulates :-
BREASTFEEDING,C O-SLEEPING AND BODY-ATTACHED with the help of asling !
The Time-Cover-Phot o was shot by Martin Schooler who has put a MADONNA AND HER CHILD as a referrence point !
Apart from Jimie Lynne,there are two more moms breastfeeding their children alongwith the 'write-up' .

US PRESIDENT OBAMA CREATES HISTORY OF SORTS BY SAYING HE SUPPORTS 'GAY-MARRIAGE' !Though,it was more of a political compulsion as far as the time he chose for telling it is concerned,yet A GREAT VICTORY FOR THE 'LGBT' COMMUNITY!JOE BIDEN spoke on sunday that he supported the 'same-sex-marriage' and on wednesday Mr.President said it.ALTHOUGH A HIGHLY CONTROVERSIAL TOPIC, THE GROWING SUPPORTS FOR LGBT IN RECENT TIMES IN AND OUT OF AMERICA IS UNDOUBTEDLY A FRESH IMPETUS AND INSPIRATION FOR THE GAYS N LESBIANS THE WORLD OVER!
Time,certainly,seems changing as far as people's opinions vis-a-vis 'SEXUAL-ORIENTATION' is concerned !

American President has finally expressed his view on 'GAY-MARRIAGE/ RIGHTS' in an interview with a leading female anchor with ABC, Robin Roberts on wednesday.OBAMA SAID THAT HE HAD THOUGHT FOR LONG AND HAD FINALLY ARRIVED WITH THE CONCLUSION THAT GAY-MARRIAGE IS OKAY AND HE SUPPORTED IT !
Obama has for long been 'NOT CLEAR' regarding gay-union and had in fact once said that his views were evolving !
So,OBAMA HAS EVOLVED FINALLY AND HAS CHOOSEN A VERY APPROPRIATE TIMING FOR IT AS HE IS TO ATTEND A FUND-RAISER TOMORROW IN LA AT CLOONEY'S HOME!A majority of Hollywood supports the rights of the LGBT-community and has from time to time participated in such rallies in order to highlight and convass supports for the community that has millions of americans!
OBAMA MIGHT HAVE BEEN POLITICALLY CALCULATIVE TO CHOOSE TIMING FOR HIS BACKING TO THE GAY-MARRIAGE!An d,he has been sternly criticised for it.
Next week,OBAMA IS TO TAKE PART IN A FUND-RAISER IN NY IN WHICH 'RICKY MARTIN' WILL BE A SPECIAL GUEST WHO IS A GAY.The large chunk of the organizers is from LGBT COMMUNITY.
A day before,NORTH CAROLINA VOTED IN FAVOUR OF A CONSTITUTIONAL BAN ON SAME SEX-MARRIAGE.
The BLACK-COMMUNITY which is a powerful Obama-constituency, is strongly disapprove same sex marriage.
SO IT MIGHT BE GOING AGAINST OBAMA TO SPEAK PUBLICALLY A OPINION THAT IS A BIG 'NO-NO' FOR BLACKS!
Such view in an election year might be disastrous too as it has given a strong point to his major rival,MITT.ROMNEY to take a mileage of sorts out of it as Romney and the majority of conservatives are strictly against same sex marriage and,in fact,ROMNEY ONCE SAID DURING HIS CAMPAIGN THAT HE WOULD BRING A STRONG LEGISLATION TO BAN SAME SEX MARRIAGE. . .
Two Things are more important that are in favour of President Obama :-
1. 65% OF YOUNG PEOPLE AGED BETWEEN 18 to 29 SUPPORTS SAMESEX MARRIAGE.
61% of People aged between 31 to 50 are also in favour of it.
And,THIS IS ACROSS THE POLITICAL SPECTRUM.No doubt,there is a sizeable vote-bank in these age groups.
Will all go for Obama?CERTAINLY NOT.
2.The Majority of LGBT had voted for him in 2008 and that proportion wl surely rise after Obama's public statement favouring the gay marriage.
WHAT ABOUT THE ECONOMY?America has been reeling under a huge burden of unemployment n overall fiscal conditions for the last four years. ..wl voters be wooed by a social issue or the economical issue?
The Answer Lies Locked Till This November!
TO ME 'SEXUAL-ORIENTA TION' DOESNOT GET PRECEDENCE OVER THE ISSUES PLAGUING THE ECONOMICAL-HEAL TH OF A NATION..but,people have various ways of perceptions and any sharp division wl not be surprising !
