A chance for glory.

November 12th 2012 19:57
Every team that's left in the Mississippi state playoffs has it on their mind. With two weeks only left, before the big 12 are left to battle it out, to earn the right to be crowned 2012 state champs, weather it's from small class 1A, to the big rigs of class 6A it's on their mind. All four schools that are left in all of the classes have one shot, and one shot only to be one of them two final teams to battle it out in Jackson three weeks from now.

Yes it's easy to consume that Clinton wil come away with a lost to powerhouse South Panola, but how can you consume that when the Tigers miss their first trip to Jackson last year, after they had appeared in 10 recent title games only losing to Meridien out of them 10. Clinton has one shot to go to Batesville and put one hell of a upset on the Tigers, just like Green Co. did this past week against Tylertown.

Some people will go with the favorite teams this week, because of what history shows, and will pick South Panola i will go down the other way, and say that Clinton will take that one chance of glory to advance to the north state championship game, because on paper it's always the same, but i believe you got to let the game be play, for yard, to yard. We as bloggers want to have control of the game, but as writers you got to give every team a chance like last year.

Look at what the Shaw Hawks did, yea they didn't win the state game, but they made it when people said they wouldn't, they took that one chance of glory, and yet most people will say that they still fail, but no that's wrong! they are winners in my book, and once again they have that chance for glory, Well for at least one more week, it will come down to the players and coaches this Friday night and when it's said and done only one team will move to the class 1A north state will it be Shaw who isn't the underdog this time around, or will it be Coffeeville..I love the underdog story, so yea i will go for this year, last years shaw story. Coffeeville a team that came in with a poor record, will peak and has peak at the right time.. and will once again do it this Friday night against last years underdog story.

Aberdeen is one of my fav. this year, and yea i know people will say that they can't get pass Charleston, because the Tigers are the defending state champs, but come on people, the Bulldogs have been their, and yea never got that chance, and yea they should have won back in 09 when they were up 21-0 against Tylertown, then Forest put it on them in 2010, and then Charleston, beat them last year, stopping them from advancing to their third shot at the title, so yea i give it to the Bulldogs this week, and if they do get pass the Tigers..i feel for the team they will face in the north state game.

Bassfield has been on a high this year, beating two 4A teams Tylertown/Forrest county AHS, and have made the most noise this playoff season. But they aren't the team that i'm looking forward to seeing in the state game..When i look at 2A it's easy to say that the Yellowjackets will be crowned state champs this year, but wait! I thank people should be looking in Marion County at East Marion..yes i know what you are thanking..they had their shot last year, and they want get that back this year..I thank they get more then that shot this year,,I thank they get the title this year, because they have peak at the right time of the year..yes it's easy to consume that the power team like Bassfield will win the south,,No! I would thank better then's always the team that you wouldn't thank would, and the Eagles are just setting and wait for their next victim. For the rest i go with Petal taking on Hattiesburg for the south crown. People in Hattiesburg will have a lot to look forward if both teams make it to the south state game. Bay high keeps it's season alive, and will welcome a date with Forrest Co. AHS for the 4A south state game. Noxubee County will be ready for a rematch with Louisville, this could be the game of the week West Point would love to take down Starkville this time around. and Pearl River Central would love nothing but the same in the south state game over Picayune. This is my blog, and this is what i thank will go i could be wrong, but so can the newspapers, and what history has for played...
