Flashes of memories - MUGABE MUST GO!!! ZIMBABWEANS NEED THEIR HOME BACK

There are as many nights as days, and the one is just as long as the other in the year's course. Even a happy life cannot be without a measure of darkness, and the word 'happy' would lose its meaning if it were not balanced by sadness - Carl Jung To be at one with God is to be at peace ... peace is to be found only within, and unless one finds it there he will never find it at all. Peace lies not in the external world. It lies within one's own soul. - Ralph Waldo Trine

A celebration of rain

Something exciting was happening

…way down below…

all the tiny creatures gathered

…huddling…
…watching…

their excited whispers
rumbled through the hills

…people were smiling…

passing their gleaming grin
from one to another
their flame of hope passed
like candlelight.

The sight of the clouds
reignited joy in their hearts
the first drops fell

…slowly…

like fairy dust

…drifting…

on the breeze
sparkling jewels
collecting on spiky
forgotten trees
the caress of the earth’s breath
on naked

…exposed skin…
…a thousand orgasmic shivers…

as kisses rain down from the heavens
droplets cold
to the touch
igniting fires

…in all the right places…

palm trees ripple
in the wind
long fingers running
like a fervent piano players

...touching...

moans of pleasure
at each stroke

…seductive windy songs…
…lick at lusty ears…

the waves of water
come and go
until all the drops are spent

…resting…
…exhausted…

on the heaving
surface of the earth.

Songs of praise for the rain and your poetic craft, after Nick, what can I say?

Ash,

I felt every drop ... on especially parched skin... beautiful, poignant, and memorable.

I LOVED IT ... and the rain too... I stood in it for an hour...Soooo invogorating...like your wonderful words.

I love the photo you've used I had to look twice to see it was earth now and not some recreation of a premordial time, long ago.

Thanks Jonathon,

Yep we had some GREAT rain it was lovely... came bucketing down.. I`m hoping it`s going to carry on. I was listening to the weather guy the other night (John Schluter I think his name is) and he was saying something about we are at the end of the El Nino cycle and according to research it shows that at the end of it they have really good rainfall... but in the Southern States. There was loads of articles in today`s paper about rain and climate change.... seems people are slowly starting to wake up to the idea...

WHat a great compliment - thank you! So happy to be of service... every time I see the fingers of the palm trees going in the wind it reminds me of a piano players fingers in full speed across the keys...

You have such a wonderful way with words and so many thoughts and emotions come along when I read your work.

I must admit I am a bit fed up with the rain but hey I live in England and so it's a constant for us but after reading this and seeing that (even though it's glorious sunshine at the moment) we are due rain later today I have the urge to go and stand outside with hubby.

Take Care.
