"Your words now reflect your fate then: either you will be justified by them or you will be condemned." Matthew 12:36,37

4-Ever Faithful
When I Say "I Am A Christian"...

When I say..."I am a Christian"
I'm not shouting "I am saved"
I'm whispering "I get lost!"
"That is why I chose this way."
When I say..."I am a Christian"
I don't speak of this with pride.
I'm confessing that I stumble
and need someone to be my guide.
When I say..."I am a Christian"
I'm not trying to be strong.
I'm professing that I'm weak
and pray for strength to carry on.
When I say..."I am a Christian"
I'm not bragging of success.
I'm admitting I have failed
and cannot ever pay the debt.
When I say..."I am a Christian"
I'm not claiming to be perfect,
my flaws are too visible
but God believes I'm worth it.
When I say..."I am a Christian"
I still feel the sting of pain
I have my share of heartaches
which is why I seek His name.
When I say..."I am a Christian"
I do not wish to judge.
I have no authority.
I only know I'm loved.

When I Got to Heaven

February 23rd 2007 22:44
This is not a piece that I, myself created, but one I came across on my favorite site: GodsLittleAcre.net/funnies. Unfortunately the author is unknown. My prayer that all who comes aross this, get the meaning. . . Your relationship with GOD is in knowing Jesus Christ, not how regular you attend Sunday or Saturday or any mid-week services, nor is it all about how much you give. Your relationship with GOD is in knowing Him and to know Him you must know Christ as Lord of your salvation. The question shouldn't be where you worship. . .but, who? And it's not about what you say. . .It's all about what you do and your heart's motivation (is it recognition, accredidation, to please man or to please GOD?).

My prayer is that everyone recognizes it's not about what you know, but who you know. If you only know man (ie, Doctor so & so or Judge ectcetera) then you know no one at all (well, no one with any true pull).

Please enjoy and think about what the poet is implying.

I was shocked, confused, bewildered
As I entered Heaven's door
Not by the beauty of it all
By the lights or its decor.

But it was the folks in Heaven
Who made me sputter and gasp
The thieves, the liars, the sinners
The alcoholics, the trash.

There stood the kid from seventh grade
Who swiped my lunch money twice
Next to him was my old neighbor
Who never said anything nice.

Uncle Bill, who I always thought
Was rotting away in hell
Was sitting pretty on cloud nine
Looking incredibly well.

I nudged Jesus, "What's the deal?
I would love to hear Your take
How'd all these sinners get up here?
God must have made a mistake."

"And why is everyone so quiet
So somber? Please give me a clue."
"Hush, child," said He. "They're all in shock
No one thought they'd see you!"

Wanted: Ambassadors for the King

February 20th 2007 20:08
Truth Be Told: What is a Christian?

To say you are a Christian are mere words. . . What is your heart’s direction? Do you desire truth, seek truth, rest in the truth or do rules and/or doctrines direct your paths? If you truly love GOD, seeking Him with your entire mind (inquiries and thoughts) and heart (meditation) then the truth will never be far from you.

“To know me, is to know my Father,” that is what Christ said to the Pharisees in the Book of John (Ch. 8, verse 19) before continuing to tell the descendants of Abraham (verses 31,32) that if they were to hold to his teachings. . .they would in fact, know the truth and be set free from bondage.

And your response is, “I know the Lord, I am a Christian.”
But do you know His commands? Do you trust His Word to keep such commands?

Let me keep it real with you (all of you). It takes a lot more than water baptism, spiritual gifts and a lifetime of teaching to make a Christian, a Christian. It takes a tremendous willingness to show love and kindness, patience with yourself and others, a willingness to die to your selfish ways and personal ambitions (should they collide with the will of the Father) and willingness to submit to His authority (who knows you better, knows your needs better than the Creator who was there in the beginning and will be/is there in the end?).

Similar to a job there’s qualifications and a description of duties:

=============================
TITLE: Christian/Ambassadors for Christ

OBJECTIVE:
To live a life according to His purpose, His will and His plan.

Primary Responsibilities:
Love and honor your Heavenly Father enough to love yourself and to love your neighbors, keeping every commandment out of reverential respect to the Father.

Job Description:
This position is a full-time, 24/7 opportunity which requires you to study and know the Character of the Son of God (therefore, developing an intimate relationship with GOD, not perfection!). It requires “crazy” faith that, though it may appear strange to those of the world, it will allow our Heavenly Father to move in tremendous ways resulting in sight even among the blind. To accept the position would mean submitting all of YOU (body, mind, spirit, desires, plans, etc) under the authority of the one and only true and living God. You are required to talk to him as if speaking with your best-friend (because He is) and forgiving others as if it were you committing the offense. Oh, and did we mention LOVE. Love as you want to receive love. If you want something, you’ll have to be willing to give something. . .

Benefits:
And yes, there are benefits. First, you are not required to do anything without HIS assistance. You will be blessed with the Spirit of GOD, another name for the Holy Spirit which will direct your paths. Second, you will gain the friendship and a lover who will stick closer to you than any other –the Word of God clearly states that God will never leave, nor forsake you. Third, you will receive love, forgiveness, entry into the Kingdom of GOD (as a co-heir to Jesus Christ); a fresh and positive perspective on life, love, and the meaning of family; healing (rather it be physical or spiritual), and every promise he’s made in the Book of Life—which as you study to know Christ, you will learn more about). The benefits are ENDLESS! These are only a few, the rest will be revealed as you seek the truth by seeking His face.

Compensation/Salary:
Life. Life more abundantly; Life everlastings; and a Powerful Ally and brother and Father and Friend and Provider and Counselor and Protector and. . . . Well, you get the point (or will with your studies).

=============================

To become a Christian requires a willing heart and desire to do the will of GOD. Granted there will be moments where you’ll begin to question if “it’s” worth it. . . Read over the promises he’s made to the seed of Abraham. Read over this job description. Talk to a friend or acquaintance that has made a commitment to follow the will of GOD. Perseverance builds character, without patience and an occasional challenge, how will you know that you are growing in your faith or that your relationship with the Lord is intact?

Dear Lord

February 15th 2007 19:19
Sun glowing through my window pane,
A brand new day have I my way.
Dear Lord, I pray before I start,
Extend your mercy as I figure this out.

Each new day comes a second chance,
To meet his wishes and conform to his will.
Each and every day I plan,
To do it right, despite what just might
Become of me in the wake of ridicule
Because My Lord will see me through.

Now the day has come and gone,
Now I know it won’t be too long
Before I see you face to face
Oh, Dear Lord Thank you for the strength to run the race

Night has fallen
All is calm
Will this night be the night when the angels sound the horns
As peace and rest fall upon my eyes
Into slumber, may my dreams be divine.

I'm not a Dr. Phil or anyone’s talk show fan, but for some reason, I sat still long enough to watch Dr. Phil’s show on Thursday, February 9, 2007. I must admit that I was outraged by Phil and his “think he knows it all” attitude. But it’s not only him, but others like him who believes that their religious beliefs and/or college degree(s) assures them a “cleared & free” card from the cages of ignorance.

For those of you who didn’t catch the show, there was a reformed exhibitionist on named Thomas who wanted to come on the show for guidance in sharing his past to his fiancé’ and to share with those who are struggling with compulsive disorders, that there is a way to beat it regardless of how high the stats are against reformation and recovery. Personally, I was impressed and commend Thomas for how he presented and maintained himself on the show

Trust & Believe

February 6th 2007 19:28
To what extent do you fully trust & believe in GOD - the Lord of salvation - the Creator of ALL things good?

I've heard many sermons and read many articles, but not until recently have I heard someone offer the best advice imaginable: "Do not limit yourself by putting GOD (the Lord of Creation) into a box
