Old Burying Ground!!" August 26th 2007 22:08
A few months ago i took five teenage girls on a 7 day trip to North Carolina. We spent time at the pool, beach, went to a smores campfire amongst many other things. One of my favorite things was when we went to Beaufort N.Carolina. We drove up and down the streets looking at the beautiful old homes with pillers lining the porches. We saw actors dressed in pirrate gear telling stories of Blackbeard. We heard bands behind wonerful smelling sea food bards. Families walking hand in hand up and down the streets. I could see me living in this town one day. It just called to me. Walking hand in hand with my husband, stopping in the little shops.
The thing i LOVED most about this town was a cemetery called The "Old Burying Ground". It's a 300 year old cemetery that was deeded to the town in 1731 by Nathanaeul Taylor, Capt.Otway Burns of the war of 1812. Revolutionary & Civil war soldiers are buried here.
He're are some of the many pictures we took while walking through.
