21 and Invincible
October 19th 2006 01:24
On the 22nd of October, I, fatgirl, will be 21.
Personally, it doesnt mean that much to me. I live in a country where the legal drinking age is 18, Im not in a serious relationship, I've completed a degree and I've kick started my career. And my biggest achievement? I've lost 8.9kg and kept it off for 8 weeks. Now that is something to smile about.
We're having a party. There's going to be family there that I havent seen in 15-18 years. Nearly as long as I've been on the planet. But Im not too worried. I'm chucking a sickie on the Friday, the party is the saturday with recovery taking place on sunday. Im definately going to need monday too... but theres a couch here, so Im guessing Ill just spend my time there that day =)
I guess I wonder, what did it mean to you to be 21? everything, just shrugged it off as if it was just another day? did you have a party and get drunk beyond oblivion? did you make some life changing decision? Im curious. I know this is meant to be a landmark age - but Im over the 'cliches' and I cant attach a personal feeling to it....
