2010 Big East Conference Tournament: Round 1 Recap

USF vs. DePaul: I nailed this one, although any non-DePaul fan probably could have guessed it correctly too. DePaul's strategy of letting Will Walker shoot it every time down the court did not payoff. 85 points
St. John's vs. UConn: Surprisingly, this ended up being a horrible game. St. John's started out hot and maintained a sound lead until the final buzzer, repaying UConn for the beating they gave St. John's earlier this season. Connecticut's best player, Jerome Dyson, was 2-7 from the field. That's not going to be enough to get it done against most opponents. Although St. John's being on their home court makes this less impressive, it still counts as another quality win for them. 45 points
Providence vs. Seton Hall: As predicted, this was a "high-scoring affair," with a combined 215 points scored. Also as predicted, Peterson was "the guy to watch." He posted a monstrous 38 point, 16 rebound line. Regardless, Pope, Hazell, and Theodore were too much for Providence to handle. Seton Hall held on for the win, even though they were outscored 67(!) - 54 in the second half. 60 points
Cincinnati vs. Rutgers: I was correct in implying Cincinnati would outrebound Rutgers, which they did 44-28. However, I was very wrong in thinking Rutgers would not pose a challenge. This one came down to the last second to decide a winner, and Rutgers was actually leading with about 8 minutes to go in the game. Still, I predicted the winner correct, and that is what counts. 80 points
Overall Score: 3-1, 270/400 = 67.5%
Note: The "points" are based on the percentage chance I gave with my predictions. If I gave a team a 60% chance of winning, then I get 60 points if they win. If that team lost, then I get 40 points, since that would be the percentage chance I gave the other team to win.
