2008 NBA Draft future studs and duds

August 11th 2008 07:44
In this years draft a large focus was on point gaurds and there were many talented 1 men to choose from. To no-ones suprize Derick Rose was chosen number 1 overall by Chicago. A great pick that is so confident in his ability that he thinks he can be MVP his first season.... Not with that team you cant Rosey boy.

Anyway onto my picks for the stars and duds of the Draft.

My number 1 favourite pick was Deandre Jordan. He was the biggest steal in the draft being picked in the 2nd round at 35. He's a 7 footer with a 7" 6' wingspan and hops. He catches anything thats thrown around the rim and he can run. The reason that he didnt get picked higher is that his offense just rely's on his physical attributes but i think he'll be a major player in a few years with the clippers.

Number 2 is Joey Dorsey!!!! This guy is huge physically. He had one of the highest bench press test results at the orlando pre-draft camp. He's only 6 foot 7 which is short for a Power Forward but he makes up for it with his quickness and jumping ability. He'll be a Jason Maxiell like player in the NBA but i expect him to be better. He will be one of the most exciting players to watch.

Next is O.J. Mayo who is a steal even at pick number 3. He is a smart savvy player with unlimited potential. His smooth jump shot and incredible hops (he has a 41 inch verticle leap) make him an offensive dynamo. He has large hands which give him great controll over the ball and he can pass with great court vision and knowledge of where teammates will be. Has the makings of a great player.

Some other great Players will be Eric Gordon, Mario Chalmers and NATHAN JAWAI.... its possible.

The DUDS!!! What a dud Brook Lopez slipped to number 10 in the NBA draft. Slow in all senses of the word brook lopez relied on his big body to bash around college players. He has no athletic gifts at all.... he will have New Jersey saying "what the hell were we thinking?'

The next Dud pick is Roy hibbert a 7-2 monster from Georgetown. He's going to block shots only if people thrown the ball directly into his hands. He is so slow the common turtle would give him shit about how rediculously slow he is. And he will be on the same team as Australia's own Nathan Jawai so not only is he bad and slow he will be taking precious minutes away from an Aussie..... What a dud!

The next possible dud is Joe Alexander. A white guy with black man like athleticism. He had the fastest time in the 3/4 court sprint at the Pre-draft camp he also had the second highest test result in the bench press and has a 38 inch vertical. But he's white and we all know if your white you either have to be an incredible shooter or passer. Sorry Joe your a dud!
