2 Years!
June 18th 2009 13:10
Happy belated birthday to this blog! Though it's fallen by the wayside for the most part, it was here that I started. As of May 13th I have officially been blogging with Orble for 2 years. I missed the date but I knew it was sometime around the beginning of summer. So I just checked and there it was.
I've come and I've gone for one reason or another; but every time I come back after one of my disappearances I get the same warm welcome. I see old friends here-Kleo, Katyzzz who have made me feel welcome as long as I've been here-and make new ones. Though it's not as close as some communities I'm a part of-like Nanowrimo-the warmth of this community always draws me back.
There are many blogs I've started and abandoned but this site I have always come back to. It's a warm environment. Though we are bloggers, here the bloggers are closer than on most other sites. We go out of our way to find other bloggers and welcome them to the community. This is a blogging community, not just a site that hosts blogs, and that is why I like this site.
This place is something else, not like the other places. The other sites. It always has been-and I have kept coming back. Even when I couldn't get online for months, when I finally got consistent internet again I've always come back. And I fully intend to keep coming back. Hopefully I won't need to disappear again, but if I do, I will come back.
It feels great to say I've been committed to blogging for this long. My blogs here are my single greatest body of work that is available to the public. I am incredibly proud of what I have done here and how far I have come in the last two weeks.
Thank you to everyone who's ever left a comment and all my silent readers too. And thank you especially to Kleo and Katyzzz, my two favourite bloggers.

That's a sad thing. Unfortunately it happens, everyone has their time; some go before it though. I don't know the situation with your mom but I know it sucks to lose a parent. *Hug* While I know you'll never fully recover from the loss, I hope you heal as much as possible as quickly as possible.

Right now, I'm doing my best to focus on the happy memories--going through old photographs and other family relics. Today's actually Mom's birthday, so I'll probably be e-mailing some wonderful old pics of Mom and Dad to my siblings later.
Thanks again for your kind thoughts and encouragement.

You're doing a lot better than I was when I lost my dad at first; it hurts but you're strong, you'll pull through.

Now i'm mainly just writing so I can keep up with my readers. Sadly nobody really comments on my work which I was hoping for, but thank you for commenting by the way.
You've got to really know the good sites or create your own website even though that costs money. So i'd say that n matter what Orble is always great as a site to fall back on because the readers actually read your work which is awesome. I'm very satisfied with Orble.
Hopefully one day I'll get hired when a real movie critic stumbles upon this site and reads my blog, but until then my goal is to entertain my readers.
Your Blog is great by the way.

Why thank you
I like Orble because you have your own domain once you've blogged with them for a certain amount of time-my site is fictionalworlds.net, for example-so you get the benefit of your own domain and the benefits of being part of a blogging network.
I think Orble is one of the better free blog websites out there, because posts are shown on the home page, there's a 'most popular' section, the sidebars on your blog can lead to related posts from your blog or those of other bloggers on the network, there's a stronger sense of community than on many others, and you get your own domain.
I mean, the layout thing of professional design still stands, but Fictional Worlds gets a decent number-in my mind-of readers each day, and knowing that people are reading is what matters to me.
