I say yes..This morning I caught up with my friend for a coffee and enquired on how her New Year turned out. 'Well great' she said, 'that is until we headed back to get the car'.
She continued, "Hubby, I and my sister inlaw and her hubby were strolling down George St, Sydney when Hubby and I realised we'd lost them , we heard screaming and knew immediately it was my sister inlaw. So we raced down to where we could hear her and found her husband being belted by 3 youths (around 20) saying they were going to take the baseball bat out of their backpack and give him a serve. It was chaotic, people were scared and moving aside. One guy was trying to talk them down .... " The upshot of this sordid little tale is that my friends' husband tried to take one of the guys of his brother inlaw's back only to be taken down by all 3 and kicked repeatedly in the head, losing 5 teeth, gaining a very black eye and suffering a fractured rib. The police did turn up and captured 2 of them but not before the 3rd got away with the backpack that contained the baseball. bat.

WHAT THE HECK IS GOING ON....these guys are clearly looking to get a piece of action and possibly cause some very serious damage..this is inciting and riotous behaviour...scary stuff.
This is more common than we know. What do we do??? The previous mayor of NYC (julianni) enforced a no tolerance state and cleaned a shady city. It that what's needed ?

Sour facial expressions and angry body language, whilst perma freezing a fake smile and making the perfunctory cordial exchanges. How the hell did we get here and how the hell do we get out of it or even better, back to the way it was.
It's as common as the burbs and suddenly what you said you would never do ...well your now playing the same game.
The fun goes out of the house of cards and you are asking questions such as ...is that what it was, a house of cards.
Really, how many people who hook up and decide to take it to the next level of committment, really have chosen to figure out the other and whether they like them past the lust stage.

Maybe divorce rates would be considerably less, if we decided to become mates first and then figure out whether or not rest can make the distance.
Many people I know whom have split from relationship or marriage, resoundingly make the same comment of "we grew apart" or they were't the person I first met....Well of course we all put on our Sunday best, hide the baggage and jump aboard for the ride. Maybe we should figure on putting in some effort first in order to save ourselves, our friends and our family from the pain and tedium.
