-- Day 5 (10pm) loneliness --

It's been a pretty uneventful day. But one thing has been on my mind all day long.
Isn't the world a lonely place?!
Start from birth. You come into the world without even a pair of pants and without knowing anybody. You meet doctors and nurses who you will probably never meet again and your parents who are the only people who will stick by you no matter what.
As life goes by we must all meet millions of people who never make a lasting impact on our lives and the majority of which we don't even get to know their names. This is especially true if you work in some form of customer facing position.
Once in a while you meet someone special who leaves their mark upon your heart and becomes somewhat of a tattoo on your life. These are the ones who are their when you feel lonely to make you feel as though there is someone there.
Don't get me wrong on this. Friends are amazing people. But if you think about it, you are always going to be alone.
I say this because people can be around you but they cannot ever reach into your mind and be one with you. Only a lucky few have such a strong connection with another that they cannot be described as lonely.
This poem is for all of you that have ever felt lonely in a crowded room and my guess is that is everyone.
Lonely
In my mind I'm lonely.
a solitary swan
a person without friendship
not a single one
My chums are all around me
yet I can't feel them near
I see their smiling faces
But I feel their not here
yet thats no means to sadness
I like to be alone
my mind is full of wonder
and thats for me alone
So anytime you're lonely
sad beyond your will
Look inside your happy mind
and drink until your full
Your friends won't always be there
but thats no need to sigh
For your best friend is always you
and with that you'll get by.
Hope it makes at least a little sense.
In other news, I go away on Friday morning so tomorrows will be my last post until saturday night when I will let you all know how my trip goes. There may even be some piccies if you all ask nicely.
