-- Day 3 (10.30pm) THE DAY I CRIED --
August 27th 2007 21:56
Lil one was at her hardest today. I am beginning to think that she has hit the terrible twos early.
She woke us at 5 am again in tears. So I took her into our bed for a cuddle, which she refused. I then took her downstairs and did all the usual, bum breakfast etc.
She refused cornflakes but ate weetabix instead, threw her milk at me and screamed throughout. and so I got her dressed and took her for a walk to the local shops. This killed 2 birds with one stone by calming her and exercising me. I didn't actually need anything so I bought her a 10p bag of crisps.
She spent the morning playing on the livingroom floor and having intermittent tantrums followed by fits of giggles over just about anything.
She refused a nap until my partner took her up and I think she more played in her cot than slept, but at least this gave me an hour to relax and calm myself.
The afternoon included more tantrums and by 6pm I had taken as much as I could. So I strapped her into her pram and went to sit on the stairs. As I sat I promptly burst into tears. I felt so helpless. I had tried everything I could to cheer her up and entertain her and had been repaid with screaming and being slapped. My head was hurting. I was tired and I was frustrated to the point of despair.
I made myself a coffee, sobbed my heart out. Then in true mother style I fixed my eyes, put a smile on my face and went back to my child.
Lil one looked so heartbroken by now, although she had stopped crying, that I picked her up and gave her the biggest hug known to man. She hugged back and it was the most amazing feeling. Like I was finally breaking through the tantrums. The whole world sang to my heart and I felt like the luckiest mummy in the world. " I love you princess and I always will!" I whispered to the bundle of cuddles on my lap. I was answered with a slap on the cheek and a big kiss.
I guess children ain't perfect, but we love em don't we lol
In better news today. . . my savings for Friday have reached the grand total of £37.63!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I am over the moon.
All I have done to save this much is put away the money I would usually spend on junk food and magazines. Just you wait while the cig money goes in there too!!!
I have also lost 3lb in weight since I began eating healthier 3 days ago. I know this will slow down by the end of the week but I now have less than 3 stone to go to my target weight.
Actually, one of you said to treat myself when I am doing well so I will....
MY TARGET WEIGHT IS NOW 9 1/2 STONE INSTEAD OF 9 STONE!!! That makes reaching that target a lil easier and I now have just over 2 stone to go.
