-- Day 2 (5pm) --
August 26th 2007 16:05
Today has been harder.
We decided to go and get my partner and lil one some new trainers from the local sports shop as they both were in need of them. So off we went with all intention of getting what we needed and getting home before we spent loads.
I saw the trainers I wanted for my daughter straight away. A pair of white and pink diadoras and they were a bargain at £3 in the sale. Then we started hunting for something for the partner.
Well lil one wasn't having any of it and began screaming, and I mean screeeeeaaaming, so loud that people stopped shopping to look. I went red as a beetroot. She was paddying and shouting and crying. Then an older woman walked past and made a comment about me being an unfit mother if I can't control my child. I had to leave before I lost my rag at her and took the pram, complete with still tantruming child, outside. Once there I immediately lit up a cigarrette although I had only just had one before going in and I burst into tears. My partner had paid for the shoes he wanted and the ones for lil one and came out of the store to see me stood there trying to sort myself out, and right behind him was Comment Woman. She looked at me trying to stop the tears falling from both myself and Lil ones faces and tutted as she waltzed off to her car. I am betting that she either never had any children or had carers for them. Where do people think that they get the right to criticise other people??? Children tantrum sometimes, thats just how it is and I wasn't going to let my daughter get her own way when she was screaming.
Then I get home and receive a call from my Grandad. He was moaning that my mum hadn't visited him while he was ill in bed and that my brother didn't go to my cousins party yesterday. I told him that this wasn't anything to do with me and I don't need him nagging on about other peoples problems when I have my own. But he carried on going on about the party until I snapped at him. You see, yesterday was my brothers 18th birthday and Tuesday coming is my cousins 21st. But my cousins parents took it on themselves to organise their sons party to fall on my brothers birthday. Meaning my brother couldn't have a party as nobody would come.
Thats the way that side of the family works. The family have been arguing for years over silly things but that is because people keep doing silly things.
So all in all its been stressful and I had had just enough by 3pm. So I left lil one with her daddy downstairs and I went for a soak in the bath, leaving them strict instructions not to disturb me unless it was urgent.
I must say it was heaven to just relax and 20 mins later I was dressing to come back downstairs to see that lil one and daddy had been having fun... lots of fun. The living room was a wreck!!!!!!!!! So I jumped down and joined in.
WHY NOT?????????!!!!!!!!!!!!

Sorry you had to feel bad over someone elses ignorance. Glad the soak helped. They do do wonders don't they.
Take care, Tammy
